There were none on the lot or within 500 miles that had what I wanted so we went with ordering. Everyone is saying the opposite pricing wise according to this forum. I'll be picking it up the week of 4/12 so I'll let y'all know what I end up getting.
I haven't seen anything in Cancel Culture Monthly about that symbol so you should be okay at this time. I think that's a seriously cool idea though. I'd recommend PixelDecals. They gave me a quote for a pretty intricate custom hood decal that was WAY cheaper than I expected. Reviews are great...
So when filing everything out it asks which model you're most interested in and Gladiator isn't on there. Does this matter or is it just a data collection point for them?
If mine ends up being screwy then I'll absolutely reach out! Crossing my fingers because I really don't want to wait for another one to be built. Or do you have some way of just getting the one off their lot since it has the features I already want?
You guys are legitimately the best community I've been involved with. Thank you so much for giving me this info all day long. If you guys are ever in the Omaha, NE area let me know and I'll buy you a beer.
Already gave me the VIN. I agree about the risk as the process did seem odd. If I back out then I get my check back and they keep the truck on the lot to sell to someone else. Either way I got it in writing now so my concerns are taken care of now.
When I called and talked to them again today today specifically mentioned doing it this way so the customer can inspect the vehicle before actually agreeing and haggling over price. Either way it'll be 5% at the most or I'll wait another 6 weeks for a different dealership.
THANK YOU for reminding me about Tread Lightly. I kept forgetting to sign up and because of you I just did. Now let's say I get them to agree to 6% and THEN provide the control number. Does that automatically bring it down to 7% or do I need to give that first and then ask for more off?
Just got off the phone with a different salesman at the same location and he provided the exact same information as the previous folks. He's gonna email it to me as well.
I've never ordered a car before and only found this forum after the fact. I clarified the process at the time with 3 separate people but due to how many folks are saying they did it before hand has caused me to email the my POC and ask to iron it out.
My dealership specifically said they do the pricing/financing once it's on the lot that way they can apply the most current deals and incentives. I had to give a 1k check in good faith to actually place the order but they don't cash it until it's actually mine.
I'll honestly be happy with 5-6 but I'm crossing my fingers for 7. Just really hoping I don't have to play hardball and walk away after waiting so long for it to be built.
