  1. Stellantis pleads guilty, will pay $300m for illegally concealing the amount of pollution created by its diesel engine vehicles

Sad part about all of this is the shaming of diesel engines. The most efficient power plant you can physically build pound-for-pound with today's tech is a diesel electric hybrid. There's a reason locomotives use these. A very small displacement turbo diesel PHEV Gladiator could easily have...
  2. Fire Fire! My Gladiator burned down

What I'm hearing is a lot of mistakes, which can honestly happen anywhere, but it's literally the dealer's responsibility to avoid these issues with proper training, supervision, and making it right when they f*ck it up. Even when #1 and #2 have high standards, they still have to hold up #3...
  3. Fire Fire! My Gladiator burned down

It's called "too lazy to grab a torque wrench." The dude just air-gunned them all like NASCAR or something.
  4. Fire Fire! My Gladiator burned down

Wow! Missed that one! I get mistakes and distractions, but come on. This dealer was also the one that cross-threaded all 5 lugs on one corner during a tire rotation with my Commander. The rest were all torqued to about 250ft/lb. They then broke off 2 of them trying to loosen. Great place.
  5. Fire Fire! My Gladiator burned down

Yes, sadly. No f*cks whatsoever even if their fault. No where near as serious, but my dealer forgot to put the coolant cap back on after an oil change in prep for a long towing trip. Ended up on the side of the 5 with a glowing-hot engine and no coolant. Response was "hey, we flushed and...
  6. Fading paint spots on hardtop - anyone else?

Hey @JeepCares this started about 6 months ago and getting worse. What's the warrantee on paint/finish? This isn't damage, it's always been a little discolored, but now a LOT discolored.
  7. Someone should burn this thing!

"OK, lets buy every accessory I can think of... Except wheels and tires. Don't need those."
  8. Things you don't notice at first - Or for a while

    Let me guess; rear window?
  9. Mojave Gas Mileage

I stopped looking. Made me depressed. Now I'm happy but broke!
  10. Mojave Gas Mileage

Considering I can average 12mpg while towing a 5,700lb boat? Yeah, that doesn't sound right.
  11. Go from 245/75 r17 to higher on Sport S Max Tow?

I'll find out what that kind of load is like tomorrow...
  12. Go from 245/75 r17 to higher on Sport S Max Tow?

They're fine. It squats a lot under load, but nothing you can't fix with a WDH or bags. I've towed with loaded bed and 600lbs on the tongue with no bottoming or stability issues. The Fox rear shocks tend to be a little bit "floaty" though. Planning to replace those with adjustable...
  13. SHOW ME 37S 2 INCH MOPAR LIFT ON A NON RUBICON

Anyone do a re-gear? I have 35s on my Sport with 2in lift and 4.10 gears and seems a bit too tall in the gearing. 37s must make that worse. Seems to hold gears way too long and find myself manually upshifting a lot or else it just rides all the way to redline sometimes.
  14. E15?

If just a few cents more, you'll actually get a bit more mpg's from E0. My trade was a Flex Fuel Commander, and E85 gave me about 3-5mpg less than E10. Funny thing about methanol is it runs cooler and seems to give you noticeable boost in torque. I actually tried to run a tank of E85 when...
  15. Sway control

Absolutely! I jackknifed an empty single waverunner trailer twice before giving up and handing it to my buddy who owned it. He immediately ran over the trailer too.
  16. Sway control

Take full advantage of being legally slow too! With a light right foot and 50-55mph, I averaged 13mpg with a travel trailer - learn the sweet spot with your mileage gauge. Taller tires actually help with 1-2mpg as long as you're moving. I was in a hurry on the way back going 60-65mph then hit...
  17. Sway control

"Pin to axle" I think is the term. Yes. A lot further back. Boat is a twin engine, so only a couple feet from rear axle to end of trailer. TT's tend to be balanced over a center point slightly tipping to the front (10% or so). I think our new TT has almost 8 feet (!!!!!!) behind the axles...
  18. Sway control

Just to add about how different trailers have different needs... My 5,500lb boat on double axle trailer which does not have WD hitch or sway control (surge brakes, won't work right) tows great, but very tongue-heavy (600lb). Our small (3,200lbs) TT also very tongue-heavy (450lbs) requires...
  19. Go from 245/75 r17 to higher on Sport S Max Tow?

Same rule-of-thumb I used when I went with Mopar lift and 35s. Opted not to fit 37s at the time because I tow a 5,500lb 21ft boat across the desert, but it handled that so well I'm reconsidering. Even had the confidence to buy a 6,000lb+, 25ft travel trailer which I hope won't be an issue even...
