  1. Painting fenders.

Yes, I forgot what the proper ratio of prep to paint technically should be but I spend an insane amount of time on prep. Lots of 3M red pads and a final wipe solvent to take all the oils and everything off the surface. As I said, spraying was the easy part and highly satisfying to see the end...
  2. Painting fenders.

I did a ton of Raptor Liner on my H2. All bumpers, plastics, brush guard, extended fender flares, etc. Not sure you plan on doing it yourself but the main time spent is on prep. Without proper prep of the plastics it will not stick or last. The next trick is finding the texture you want with...
  3. Basic operational questions

Post #2 and #3 answered your questions. ACC is accessed by pressing the start button WITHOUT pressing the brake. You can press it again to go into IGN as well and a third press will turn everything back off. You basically just cycle through ACC/IGN/OFF Trip odometers are accessed though the...
  4. Rubicon Express 2" Economy Lift Advice

I love the cost of spacer lifts but when it comes to a full suspension lift I think I would rather pay more for the correct parts. I feel the Mopar lift is expensive for what you get but again, genuine Mopar parts. It would be nice if the controls arms were adjustable though.
  5. Best bed cover for the money?

I had to spend the money for a hard folding cover. The AZ heat and sun destroys everything it gets to. Matter of fact, one of the knobs from my first RC cover stripped because they became so hot, it's been upwards of 110 here already. Mopar cover uses actual bolts/nuts to secure the cover. I...
  6. Best bed cover for the money?

RC is $650 so the price obviously drew me to that but in the end I wished I would have spent more. Mopar is $950 but it looks so much better IMO. I've had great luck with RC products in the past and the reason I gave up and sent it back was the lack of communication with their customer...
  7. Best bed cover for the money?

I prefer the hard covers myself. I started with the Rough Country Tri Fold but had issues with it. Had to return it for RMA/refund. Immediately ran to my local Jeep dealership and bought the Mopar quad fold cover and it is worlds better quality and look wise.
  8. Bad steering box 68418449AE

Thanks, I appreciate it. I don't know if I try to justify NOT taking mine in since it really isn't terrible but it can be at times as I mentioned. Thanks again!
  9. Overpriced aftermarket parts...

Mopar may be expensive but as others have mentioned, fit and finish is top notch. I originally bought a Rough Country tri-fold hard tonneau cover. One of the slats where it bends was bend and would not sit flat. Over 3 weeks of back and forth, waiting for emails, etc and I finally gave up and...
  10. Bad steering box 68418449AE

I appreciate that. I know some have said when the boxes heat up the steering becomes worse. Given we are upwards of 110 already here in AZ I am being more aware of how the steering feels and I am slightly concerned with it becoming worse. What made you take yours in a 10k? Finally fed up with...
  11. Where do you carry Freedom Panels in the vehicle?

I'm thinking the Sunrider is the only way to really go. I love taking the Freedom Panels off but storage is obnoxious. I leave them in the garage but last time I took them off temps soared in AZ and I wished I had them to put back on. Crazy how expensive the Sunrider is though.....
  12. Bad steering box 68418449AE

Can't we deduce that as time goes on the trash boxes will eventually be phased out through replacements and all that will be left is the better boxes? Mine is not bad but annoying at times when windy and on the highway to the point of both hands on the wheel but I don't want to risk a new box...
  13. What did you do TO your Gladiator today? [ADMIN WARNING: NO POLITICS, NO GUN TALK]

That setup is really good looking. Everyone keeps going 12.50s but the 10.50s on 35s look really good! Just when I think I have a new tire figured out I see this!!!! I like the tuck looked so I might have to go the same route.
  14. Looks like Hummer wants to be like the Gladiator...

I've had an H2 for a looong time. I have dumped an insane amount of money into that old girl and she was my predominant offroad rig until I bought my JTR. The size is the biggest issue with the H2s offroad but capability wise they are up there with full time 4WD, electric transfer case, lockers...
  15. Aftermarket Diff Cover?

That ARB is very nice. I don't think I would need them. I do offroad but nothing hardcore crazy where I would bust a cover open (at least I hope not). $170 isn't too shabby though, maybe when fluids are changed.
  16. Hauling Long Lumber

I've done a few trips of 16 foot sections of crown molding. I pad everything with towels and place them through the rear window to the dash with the rest hanging out the back. I did put some bungees at the rear just to keep the stack from sliding around.
  17. Mopar 2inch suspension lift

Are you planning on any adjustable parts to bring the axles back in alignment? No one seems to mention this with the Mopar lift.
  18. Bad steering box 68418449AE

Mine is similar to NC, stock minus the Fox steering stab. I definitely have play in mine but I do not think as severe as some. I need to look at it closer. In AZ is seems to be windy every day which is a major factor but I feel like I am all over the road. I'm curious how it gets when the temps...
  19. About to make a deal and last minute the dealer tells me the vehicle has over 4000 miles...

Nope, that's a no from me. 4K miles on a "NEW" vehicle. We can get into semantics here but that would not be new to me regardless of where or who the miles came from. I was annoyed mine has 64 miles on it lol.
  20. First Look: Sidetrack LED System for JL and Gladiator!

I completely understand. Oracle products are definitely some of the nicest on the market hands down. I do like these more than the other vent light options and will likely give them a shot. Thanks for the response.
