Dang. I told myself I wouldn't miss my chance if Nacho or Punkn came back....
Seems like it would be too irresponsible financially at this point for several reasons. Plus I'd be giving up the limited slip.
I don't disagree but there's more to it than that.
There's noticeable power / throttle being cut specifically on upshifts depending on how abrupt you let off the clutch, compared to the same gear, rpm, and throttle input when already in that gear. I've tested it a bunch of times and am pretty...
Pedal Commander was a waste of money on my manual truck, since the areas where I want more throttle is where the truck is apparently going into shock-mode (right after an up shift if I let out of the clutch too quickly). Shock-mode overrides any inputs coming from the throttle pedal (whether...
I have state farm on mine. Honestly going to switch since my rates keep going up and they can't even send paper insurance cards after asking them 3 times.
Also depends on what weight you place on reliability and serviceability, and being reliant on a dealer.
There's a lot of complexity happening behind the scenes for all of the emissions stuff on the diesels, that you would need the dealer if there's an issue.
And then the fuel pump failures.
If...
All they have to do is offer a little money towards having a properly designed aftermarket clutch kit installed, with a customer signed waiver that FCA isn't responsible for future clutch related failures within the warranty period.
I think the main "throttle response" issue is the shock protection that I notice between shifts if I don't gingerly let out the clutch on the upshift.
A pedal commander won't fix that (I tried).
Once I'm in a given gear and apply the throttle it seems responsive enough. From a stop at idle...
I didn't know you could get a Willy's with anything other than the BFG KM2's from the factory. My KM2's measure almost exactly 31" with the weight of the truck on them.
They would need to offer it with a softwareless transmission before I could consider one.
My previous truck was a 2nd gen and it was a great truck that gave me 0 issues. So I wanted to give GM a chance.
Like mentioned, I would regear first. If you can get enough extra performance without touching the motor, that's ideal.
Forced induction on the 3.6 would scare me personally. I would either pony up for a 5.7 or buy a square body Chevy and would trust either of those options a lot more
You could try it on the halfway up setting, I've done that for some things.
Otherwise sometimes I try to angle it just a little sideways. Not enough it sticks out past the side of the truck, but enough that it makes it less likely for someone behind to hit it directly if they missed the red...
You're being emotional and making generalizations about me that are false. Angry posts like this are what fans the flames.
Being logical, I never said that someone isn't a person. I mentioned observing people that ruin what they touch, and like being limited in their vehicle choices.
Moving on
Is Softtopper the brand im assuming or otherwise what's the brand you have OP?
I'm thinking about getting one as well, curious about how much drag they add on if it's noticeable. I'm hoping to get one that collapses down to a tonneau cover though, so maybe less of a sticking point.
I feel your pain. I hate being penalized for other people's screw ups.
Jeep, just admit you screwed up and give me some money towards a properly designed clutch system.
Customer safety should be more important than saving a buck.
