I had it happen in a parking lot in the Wrangler I had before. It got scared of its own shadow as far as I could tell. I disabled auto-stop immediately after that and made sure the Glady I bought didn't have that feature. It doesn't work nearly as well as the radar ones.
I'm pretty particular about the way my vehicles drive which is why I went with one of the lightest 35's with the snowflake rating I could find, and kept the 22lb stock wheels. There is a difference, but a small enough difference to get used to it in about 2 days. It drives great and I get...
That's why I went with the Yakima Overhaul HD rack. It's aluminum, pretty light, and has quick release feet so I don't have to drive around with it all the time.
Do you have any suggestions for padlocking these things? I’m struggling to find one that fits well. I see you have a padlock on yours, does it work well?
So far so good, but I honestly haven't had a chance to use it for real yet. Still waiting on my RTT to mount to it. Supposed to be ready for pickup this month, we'll see.
I did change the way I mounted the bases. I installed a DIY strut channel rail, so the bed clamps no longer work. So I...
Just read through your build thread, and I am 99% positive I saw you at the grocery store in Moab in March. I had the Glady with two mtbs over the bed.
You need offset and width to have a clear picture of where the edge of the wheel sits in relation to the hub.
I always refer to AEVs wheel fitments as they're about perfect.
My $0.02. The Ranger Tremor is a compelling truck/$ value for most offroading that 90% of people will do. My hesitation would be just how old that platform is, its limited suspension geometry, and odd interior choices. Big fan of the ecoboost engines though. With enough cooling those things are...
Can you say more about it? I am really over the floatiness of the stock Rubicon suspension so I've been shock shopping. However, I'm worried about getting one with too much rebound damping and getting a "jacking" effect with repeated hits.
That's the magic of shock valving. You can have a really stiff high speed response and a really soft low speed response. The two aren't necessarily coupled.
I wish this came with some new rear springs as well! I find the rear stock Rubi springs to be super soft. Paired with low damping its a bit boat like back there.
Watching this. I don't have any real desire for a lift, but would like a higher performing suspension than the stock Rubi setup. Would be awesome if there was a high quality 1" with tuned shocks/springs.
That looks pretty good. I don't have a need for them yet, but $340 for a set is pretty affordable for quality LED lighting. Mopar is $330/light for comparison.
