  1. 13.1mpg best I can get with 35’s. Questions inside…..

Indeed. It's a pretty light n fast setup! Not the most feature packed or extravagant, but great for tossing on the truck and jetting out for the weekend.
  2. 13.1mpg best I can get with 35’s. Questions inside…..

I have a similar setup, and just averaged about 18mpg driving from Moab, UT to Denver, UT with speed between 70-85mph. A couple of things though which might contribute to the difference: I have my tire size calibrated via Tazer I was mindful to pick one of the lightest 35" ATs I could find...
  3. Anyone buy military surplus?

I've never heard anyone say good things about surplus tires - except that they're cheap 37s. They're heavy, ride poorly, suck in about any mud/snow/rocks, and you need 16.5" wheels (which are fun to find, and debatably won't clear your brakes).
  4. Camping with your Gladiator

How well does that diesel heater work, and what kind of bedding do you use?
  5. Camping with your Gladiator

Yeah, the GFC SuperLite. Very happy with it so far!
  6. Moving to 35s - what causes the most change - diameter OR weight?

Easy enough to DIY tire research. I made a list of tires that met my requirements, down selected, then ordered them myself.
  7. Camping with your Gladiator

Holy squat. It might be time for some airbags. What all is in the bed?!
  8. Durable Dog Hammock for Gladiator

Following because my amazon special is starting to fall apart after a number of washes. I really want one that is durable, but still has a front vent, and has side walls to protect the doors.
  9. Moving to 35s - what causes the most change - diameter OR weight?

In my opinion, weight. But ALSO where that weight is! Meaning two different size tires that weigh the same will have different impacts due to the weight being further out. The weight concern is what drove me to a C rated 35x11.50x17 on the stock, lightweight, alloy wheels. It's a pretty light...
  10. JT owners age group

I'm very thankful to have been able to afford it at 26. It makes a great truck for adventures with my wife+pup, basecamps for climbing 14ers or mountain biking, and house chores like hauling firewood.
  11. Sumo Springs

How much travel is there before you hit the sumo? Also for the rear, did you get the 1400lb or 1800lb springs?
  12. Bought used Gladiator last night....2nd used Jeep product with 35 inch ridge grapplers

I really liked the Duratracs I had on my TJ - till they aged. The "good for a year" mantra held true and the things turned into hockey pucks with plenty of tread left. When I slid through a stop sign on a rainy day that was my sign for new tires. Since then I've been drawn to tires with a...
  13. Sumo Springs

How does it drive unloaded with the sumos?
  14. Fender flares made of cheap material

Is it possible Back to Black caused damage? My '20 fenders certainly don't look like that. Odd.
  15. Bought used Gladiator last night....2nd used Jeep product with 35 inch ridge grapplers

In the MT realm, I did find that the Falkens did way better than I expected. My JT came with those and I got caught in the first real snow of the season last year and had to drive from CB-->Denver without much drama. That said, they were way less confidence inspiring than the Toyo ATs I have now...
  16. Bought used Gladiator last night....2nd used Jeep product with 35 inch ridge grapplers

Any reason why you don't want an AT? MT's and snow performance tend to be in opposition of one another. In my opinion, epecially in CO, a 3PMSF tire is a must for how slick it gets in the high country. Probably won't find a 3PMSF MT
  17. Bought used Gladiator last night....2nd used Jeep product with 35 inch ridge grapplers

Toyo ATiii, BFG KO2, Falken AT, Yoko X-AT, Mickey Thompston Baja Boss AT, Cooper AT3. I'd say take your pick and try and pick one with Load Range C. Personally, I have 35x11.50x17-C Toyo ATiii that have been excellent on the highway and for snow in CO.

Yep, you're hearing the abs motor doing its thing to keep the speed where it needs to be
