I bought this tool to use as a quick way to verify alignment in my own shop. I haven't used it yet but who knows, maybe it will get as close as an alignment shop can. He uses metal tape measures but I purchased cloth tapes on Amazon that will work better with an added weight...
Yes I did. The last component I don't have is the rock jock track bar but I have a Core 4x4 tier 3 installed right now. I'll test the clearance once I get it all installed. I just don't want to replace it unless I have too. I also have to check my bump stops.
Thanks. The back story is I'm about to swap Rubicon axles into my Willys. Therefore my current drive shaft is not and never has been mated to either f/r diff that will be going in. However, in the purchase the guy threw in both f/r drive shafts that were originally mounted to those diff's. Not...
I know the front and rear driveshafts are weighted for balance and must be correctly oriented. Does anyone know if they are phased to the differentials or trans/t-case? Or is it to eachother? If it is to the diff's I'm not sure how to know the orientation when I install the f/r axles. Just...
I'm getting closer to completing the Rubicon 5.13 axle swap when these show up. Just trying to do all I can on the bench before they go under the truck.
@mdyucca ok, so I experimented with the gmrs antenna in the laid down position. It was good for 1/2 a mile. I would think the range would extend if it were standing up. I will secure a small flat metal disk to the top of the black freedom panel to stick the antenna on if needed when we're off...
Haven't yet but I will experiment this evening. I have hand helds too and ill drive down the road and talk to my wife at home. I have a trip coming up this weekend for a real world test and I will let you know.
I placed it laying down on top of the rollbar rail behind the windshield. The base is small enough to fit between the freedom panel and the rollbar rail. I have a Sun shade with the elastic straps and I just slid it under one of those. I ran the wire behind the weather stripping of the passenger...
So it's been a busy weekend on BIG Willy. In preparation for the Rubicon axle swap, I installed a set of Lasfit locker and aux switches. Turned out better than I expected. I love that the radio mic plugs right in the front of the swith face. Allows for a clean radio installation.
Next I hid my...
Well at about 20 miles into the trip, you buying a bolt would be cheaper. Lol. I don't recall there being a clearance issue that requires the use of a carriage style head on that bolt. I would take your bolt to a hardware store nearby that has a good assortment of bolts. Have someone verify the...
I doubt it. The 20's were a round bolt. In late 20 and up they have the square shank on the bolt body. It really is as simple as replacing the bolt with a grade 8 m12 (I think) bolt or having the square turned down. Took 3 minutes to do.
