For example, I ordered a '20 JTR in '20. The month that I ordered mine, prox door handles were a mandatory "option." I confirmed this with several dealers. For whatever reason, Jeep was putting them on all the JTRs they were building that month.
Weird things like that pop failrly regularly...
No doubt you can find a relatively simple way to start the engine without the fob. But driving the vehicle around and having it operate "normally" is a whole other ask. All those various modules are communicating constantly with each other and it only take one logical path in one module to...
I don't work for NASA or on moon missions, but I have been a professional rocket scientist for the last 25 years, so take this however you like....
This isn't impossible. It can be done. The level of complexity at a system engineering (system of systems) level makes a guy in his garage doing...
It would be easier to take an old vehicle of some sort, Jeep/light truck/etc., and replace the entire body with a JT body than it will to replace the wireless FOB + push-button and all the associated hardware/software changes that would require.
Jeeps with LEDs have gotten a bad rap with all the crappy, Chinese "light blob" headlights people have been putting on JKs for years now.
(I say this as a reformed JK crappy, Chinese "light blob" headlight owner.)
What you're thinking of is angular momentum. A wheel takes some amount of effort to start it spinning and some amount to stop it. Conceptually, the "bigger" and "heavier" the tire, the harder these processes will be.
Breaking it down mathematically, angular momentum (L) is the moment of...
I don't have any experience with the Mastertop tops, only the Bestop ones. That said, I've been very happy with the Bestop products one my JK and my JT.
I think you're in good shape with either one.
I never said the factory aligned them correctly. I implied that they don't align them correctly. I didn't communicate my point very well, but you missed it entirely.
But judging by you're other replies in this thread, maybe you just want to argue with everyone. Meh.
I have a Rugged Ridge tri-fold, but I have the soft cover, not the hard cover. My cover doesn't have much impact on using the trail rail. The only thing that could have any impact is that the 3rd panel doesn't flip up, but that's never stopped me from doing anything I've needed to do with the...
If you're not lifted or on bigger tires, you shouldn't HAVE to adjust your lights. With that said, the factory may have misaligned them, so it's a good idea to check if you're getting flashed a lot.
I prefer solid tops to shades. The shades don't do you much good if there's a pop-up rain shower.
I tried the Mopar top, but it was flappy at anything over 35 and wouldn't stay in place like it should.
Next, I went to the Bestop extended safari top. I had one on my JKU and loved it. The...
I got rear-ended in my Wrangler a few years ago. The frame was bent and it wasn't totaled. It was close though. (I think the insurance told me the repair estimate had to exceed 70% of the list value before they would consider it totaled.) Anyway, they didn't fix the frame; they replaced it...
