Our trailer was 5k, probably 8k with all the gear but I get your point. The tailgate gets padlocked, so does the hitch, and then a chain through the wheels. If someone really wants to get it they can, but at some point I have to be willing to enjoy the hobby and stop worrying. As I've found out...
Silver lining of the experience is it convinced my wife and I into buying this trailer set up at the expo show in Moab. Now when we go someplace all of our gear gets padlocked in the trailer and then the trailer itself gets locked. Plus it's nice to have a base camp instead of lugging everything...
It was most of our kitchen and accessory stuff (stove, plates, cups, heater, hammocks, et cetera) which does add up. Plus we had two days left to camp there and we now left with using a grill grate and some gas station plastic utensils. Lesson learned. I still think the likelihood of that...
We foolishly hid some totes under another Jeepers toy hauler (with their permission) before hitting the trailhead. When we got back the totes were gone, they left the firewood though....
It my have been some locals or drifters taking advantage of some midwest tourist because I really hope the...
I looked at some of the other hitch skids, they are all very expensive for what they are but I specifically like the 41.22 skid because of how compact it is. Since I do use the hitch I think paying for the skid will be necessary. Hopefully, a sale will pop up to pacify me
I had this happen as well. Do you have an AT or MT out of curiosity? I had an MT, here's my thread on the subject: https://www.jeepgladiatorforum.com/forum/threads/psa-for-anyone-with-the-6mt.45437/
I can't pull the trigger but I'm not as bothered by the seat position. I'm having a similar issue with buying a hitch skid. I want this but just cannot quite justify the cost....yet...
Wheel protectors on. AEVs onyx matches granite crystal metallic very well. Not sure about a more visually appealing solution for the hardware but overall I'm happy with the look and function.
Thanks!
I was just reading over your build thread. I really like the reverse lights you added. Thinking about doing the same but wiring them into the aux4 switch.
I found that for some reason the light bar and bull bar lights are wired together, both Aux1 and Aux2 turn them both on. I think...
This may be the answer. I would think a properly sized spacer would provide the same clamping force when everything is bolted in.
To use the rancho skids as an example I would have to source 4 bolts and flush spacers to accommodate the 4 bottom countersunk cover holes
Probably not something...
I looked into this expensive but very beefy setup. While it's towards the top of my list I was trying to find something compatible with the covers I already have. That may not be possible.
I've been scouring the internets without much success. I recently got into an AEV JT370. It has AEV diff covers front and rear. While the covers are nice quality I'd like to have a slider that protects the housing up to the pinion. I had a set of Ranchos on my last JT and liked those, used the...
Another X4S potential customer. The biggest appeal of something mounting to the X4S type cover is the ability to completely strip it when not camping/offroading. Being able to use my bed unobstructed was the reason I purchased the X4S with the anticipation of future rack options mounting to it...
