Some great thoughts and input. My thoughts:
Totally agree, a more efficient design with more capacity can only help
Again, agree. More airflow is only going to help, if managed properly
From what I've seen on buddies' JTs, no room for an additional radiator
Agree here, ESPECIALLY on a turbo...
Read my reply to him. That's why radiators already aren't hard-mounted, and the factory radiator is plastic and aluminum. A higher quality, thicker-gauge all-aluminum aftermarket radiator isn't going to be more leak-prone due to flexing, it will be less leak-prone...

If mounted properly the radiator shouldn't be flexed when the frame (or unibody like my WJ) flexes, at least to a reasonable extent. Pretty much EVERY radiator is aluminum now days anyway, I don't see many brass radiators anymore. ;) The stock radiator is aluminum, it just has plastic end...
Very much looking forward to seeing your results. One thing, don't you mean the slots are wider, not narrower in the Sport and black grill options? Seems like the slats between the slots are narrower. ;)
Interesting. I wonder how scientific that person's testing was? I would have thought...
Do you currently own a deleted diesel? Have you driven one before/after? I have a D'max truck that may, or may not be deleted and tuned. It's a night and day difference, more power/torque with lower temps and better fuel economy. Also, reduced under-hood and under-truck temps. The latter...
I don't have a Gladiator yet, but this is my little off-road camping trailer:
It weighs 2800lbs (verified at a CAT scale) with the front basket full of hardwood and the 30 gallon water tank full, plus all my gear/supplies for a week of camping.
The awnings do have annex rooms (one is a 3...
I'm not totally sure. We had a '16 Grand with the 5.7L Hemi and the MPG ratings were very close to the V6, and in practice it actually could often do better than the V6. It's really the "right" motor for the job in the Grand, and I think it would be in the JL/T as well. At the end of the day...
You'll like the F450 for towing, for sure. My brother-in-law just got a 2021 F450 and tows a ~40 foot toy hauler with it. The 6.7L and the 10-speed are a great combo. But, it's definitely a big vehicle and wouldn't be ideal for the use-case I have (I actually have a 3/4 ton Duramax for...
After reading this thread, some thoughts:
As others have pointed out, and as the OP seemed to confirm, just flat-footing it isn't the way to go - managing power and heat will create better results
While the owner's manual says no break in procedure is necessary, that doesn't actually mean...
Hi all, I'm new here and doing some research on potentially switching to a diesel Gladiator (Rubicon) from my current '03 Grand. I'd be keeping the WJ, just too much time and money in it, with very little potential return on investment selling it. My use case is towing a small off-road camping...
