  1. Fuel “efficiency” with 37s

Nicely done. I did about 1200 mile round trip on new 37's with factory 4:10's a couple of weeks ago and didn't have time to marry my new tazer to my Jeep that the dealer set up for 35's settings vs the new 37's, so my speed O and such is still off about 5%. 18 hours of hills of the upper lower...
  2. My view from work

Luckily my work allows me to work from "home" or my cottage Thursday, Friday, and Monday during the summer months. Tip of the thumb in Michigan.
  3. 2.5" lift with 35's, what backspace on a 17x9 rim?

CJ retro wheels are 17x8.5 with 5.2" backspacing. I wouldn't want to go too much less due to tire poke and ball joint issues as mentioned before . I originally had 35's and now running 37's but both are 12.5" wide, so the tire poke is basically the same the same.
  4. Factory brake upgrade - best for the bang

After rolling 55K+ and still running factory brakes and upgrading to 37" tires for the last 2 months (ran 35's from 0 miles to just under 55K), its probably time to upgrade the brakes. Their still fine, but I have noticed over the last couple weeks a slight decrease in braking distance which is...
  5. Shibbyjeep's Trenticus Build

Sweet rig and build. Well done!
  6. Time for new shocks.

Been looking for months to find the new Blistiens that come with the mopar lift to repalce my fox shocks I got with my mopar lift 5 years ago. 55K miles and they are still functional, but have started to feel a few more bumps in the road compared to when they were new. I enjoyed the upgraded...
  7. Hitch Skid Choice

I went with the Body Armor as well. Held up well after almost 5 years. Have to had to touch up the paint a few times after dragging it so it didn't rust too bad. 1/4" steel and wide coverage for the towing chain loops I had to put a hitch clamp plate over the top of it because of the...
  8. 50th Anniversary of the Michigan Tech four-wheelers reunion

Always gonna have a bad seed or 2 over the years for sure. Saw a few local "Yoopers" during my stint up there pretty much ruin a couple of logging roads.
  9. Silver Lake Sand Dunes, Michigan, advice, suggestions?

If you haven't been there before, its pretty cool but its also crazy busy usually over Labor day weekend but most people are gone especially by Wednesday. There is a the annual BBQ event starting back again on the 5th and 6th, so there maybe some "leftovers" staying during the week or coming...
  10. 50th Anniversary of the Michigan Tech four-wheelers reunion

We celebrated our Michigan Tech University's 50th anniversary of its 4 wheeler club. 1975 to 2025 last weekend. I transferred there in 1991 and graduated with EE degree in 1994 and a Operations mgmt in 1996. I was president of the club in 1996 when running my K5 Jimmy. We had 18 former...
  11. Post Aux Battery Delete Issues

I'll provide my condensed version of a story of my aux battery failure I got the dreaded Avenger symbol back in the fall of 2024. Drove it for a month or 2 and no issues and finally jeep died in the driveway at 8 volts on the dash gauge. Tied up the aux battery cable and pulled fuse 42. All...
  12. What did you do TO your Gladiator today? [ADMIN WARNING: NO POLITICS, NO GUN TALK]

Couldn't pass up these decals when I saw them. HAHAHA
  13. Halogen bulb replacement NOT LED

You can always do just a Sylvania Halogen Silverstar bulb as a upgrade. Plenty of videos on Youtube on how to replace bulbs. Same directions appliy for Halogen vs swapping in a LED bulb Pull the 6 or so plastic clips from the top of the fan shroud. Pulling the clips out of the bottom of the...
  14. 37's and MPG

Just completed a 1200 mile round trip on new 37's with factory 4:10's and didn't have time to marry my new tazer to my Jeep that the dealer set up for 35's settings vs the new 37's, so my speed O and such is still off about 5%. 18 hours of hills of the upper lower Michigan to the UP of...
  15. Tires and Lifts

Thank you. They're actually factory Mopar. RPO code M9C. I think Jeep finally shows them now on the build and price portion of Jeeps website. Only certain models like Sport S, Rubicon etc.
  16. Tires and Lifts

Mopar kit, no spacers. Here's the difference between 35's and 37's (if your interested). Top pic with ATX's are 35's and bottom pic are BFG KO2's in 37's. The Mopar kit will get you about 3 inches and some change on sport models. I was bummed when my 35's looked a little small, but I loved...
