Everything just bolts on The kayak racks drop inside the slots on the top bars. You could easily mount cross bars on the top there are multiple mount spots

I pull our travel trailer all over the place. Been to Myrtle Beach, Western Pennsylvania,Jersey shore, mountains etc. It weighs about 5000 pounds. I have a weight transfer hitch set up. Pulls nice and easy. Towed over 12000 miles so far.

I took some pictures to show rack details. This is the max modular 18" rack with adapters for factory bed cover. You can still easily slide the bed cover back and roll it up to the front posts of the rack

You can mount anything you want up there . It is the 18", but with the bed cover adapter it's actually 20"

Yes it slides back from under the bars rather easily. Rolls after you slide it under.
