I'm thinking that's right too.
Reading that Autoblog article, which Car & Driver also picked up, I do see the confusion where they say Gecko will be orderable through October. I think that's just an error confusing when 2021s are orderable vs will be delivered. The whole premise of the article...
I donāt think thereās any contradiction. Orders end in august, but vehicles are still produced for a few months. Gecko production would end then with the rest of 2021s in November.
Agreed - they'd make their $30k and would have a lifelong enemy who would do everything in my power to push anyone I know away from that dealer.
This exactly. But these high profile, milked-for-months launches see some buyers caught up in the hype.
That said, I also don't get why manufacturers...
At that pricing unless youāre planning to drive it until it dies 100% Rubicon. Youāll make it back when you sell and the price spread may not even be $2k since Rubicon invoice is about $700 more below MSRP than Willys invoice is to Willys MSRP.
If you're going to go with new rims, maybe spacers, and 37s anyways maybe consider a cheaper aftermarket lift? I like Mopar for warranty coverage but otherwise it's probably not the price/performance sweet spot, and not lifting will likely delay your Jeep having the look you're looking for.
Is diesel only unavailable with Sport S, and so still available with Sport? I ask because upthread there was a claim (seemingly stated in the order guide but otherwise unconfirmed to my knowledge) that Max Tow is also unavailable with Sport S but is still available on vanilla Sport.
That would...
My plan is to use their lender. Iāll refi if their rate is meaningfully worse.
I also donāt really know how the tax side will work. Your solution above would work well in my case if itās offered. Iāll learn more closer to delivery - ultimately it wasnāt a big enough factor for me so I didnāt...
Wranglers have long lifecycles. A JM or whatever could be a MY2029 vehicle and by then there could easily be a new turbo 4cyl option with an I6 above it. Thatās assuming they offer any gasoline options at all which I donāt think is a given in this segment that far out.
My bigger question is...
Good post. The power tool market is weird because buying kits offers dramatically lower per-tool or per-battery cost versus buying individual tools or batteries. The guy who needs a single tool+battery kinda gets screwed.
I would wager irresponsible amounts of money that at no point in the next 20 years will we have widespread āhot swappableā batteries nor will we have the ability to add on additional battery āpodsā for long trips.
Firms love to tout the promise of modularity and versatility in their products...
Iāll be registering in FL. For me it was a $1k deposit paid via a web link to a PayPal like page. He also told me since Iām out of state he gives a temp tag and then I handle registration myself locally. He did not specifically comment on sales tax but I bet Iāll have to do that directly too...
Iām sure dealers will get itā¦for about a week. Bronco will be a high volume vehicle and so sooner rather than later there will be plenty to choose from. But for some people $50k to be first on the block (or more realistically first in their social media circle) with one is justifiable.
As a guy who works in this space, people sometimes say as you lay out above but leave unstated the implied "...and so they shouldn't be permitted to have it" which completes the thought. Not saying Mtpisgah is doing that, but to me that's when things get problematic.
In a world where people...
I've said in other threads I'm broadly pro-EV. But the issue with the quoted passage is how often does that have to not be the case to torpedo the appeal of EVs. A single long trip a year could probably be worked around, but what about one per month or per week? After all many of us don't use...
No disrespect, but your local dealer is full of shit. 95% of dealers have a model where they want to make $X off each sale, where $X is a high number. In exchange they float a huge amount of inventory that they slowly cycle through, and spend a ton of costly time on tire kickers to try and...
6/7/8, 6 as base and then 1 more for both TL and financing.
Not mentioned too much on the Gladiator side, but Koons in Northern Virginia is 6.5% under invoice with their financial and TL. TL is only netting .5% there and their 'non-financing' penalty is $1k, but Craig there is super solid and...
You can't order one anymore, but you may still find one on a lot. Aside from black, white, gray*, and red Jeep seems to rotate all the other colors pretty frequently. There is often one non-red bright color and one earth tone, but even that isn't guaranteed.
*Unbelievably to me there are three...
Bolded is my emphasis. You're entitled to your belief there, but I don't think the answer is as obvious as you're suggesting it is. I'm actually with you that stability control has a large and positive impact on safety, but the alternative here isn't 'no stability control,' it's defeatable...
