Thanks for sharing your real-world impressions. The Car and Driver article I referenced above had the same experience but I was somewhat discounting it because they've been down on Gladiator this year.
I'm surprised someone said not to ask for full acceleration in hybrid mode. Maybe I'm...
Suggests a cheap upgrade engine is less likely: 1) none of the other midsize trucks have powertrains substantially more powerful/more performant than Gladiator; 2) in many auto segments engine upgrades are nonexistent or cost more than $3k; 3) corporate fuel economy averages
Suggests a cheap...
I'd 100% pause further upgrades pending MY22 announcements. Waiting for more info here versus forum speculation is basically 'free' so that seems like the smart money play. If no 4xe (or something wilder like a 5.7 option or a turbo I6) then keep upgrading, if the 4xe is announced then you'll...
Gator Rubicon looks amazing, love it!
Daniel is certainly not on vacation, at least in terms of not having email access. I think he's getting a lot of emails and is triaging them somewhat. I'll just tell my own experience - when the credible reports of Gecko being orderable emerged last week I...
Youâll never be an idiot in my book since you helped get Gecko orderable! But what happened with your local dealer, did they go back on their original numbers when you moved forward?
Yes I also had higher pricing presumably on the Jeep side. I checked with another dealer without saying I was cross-shopping and got identical MSRP figures so I assumed the spreadsheet was out of date and prices had risen for July :(
Thanks for clarifying. That's still a great deal, even if no longer "best I've ever heard of" level. I'm also at $54k MSRP and $47k to the dealer for my Gupton order, so you still did as approx. as well and didn't have to order and wait. Nicely done.
Also, your Nevada car taxes sound brutal :(
Great job. $47k out the door (with tax, tag, and title) is awesome!
I very much agree about locking in the financing at that rate too - even if you have the cash, at 2.5% youâre very likely to win out investing the funds over the term.
Thatâs awesome! Make sure youâre accounting for doc fees and the like. If the local dealer really ends up cheaper in the end you should share their name so others can purchase from them too.
Iâm interested in this too. Iâm fine with the fairly basic âDiver Downâ Quadratec covers, but when I asked if theyâd fit Gladiator (their site doesnât mention trim-specific fitment) they replied âWe have not been able to test fit. Sorry we are unable to confirm at this time. Thanks for your...
Me too. As long as they donât CANCEL the order Iâm actually happy about a delay - I have another car I need to sell privately first and the later into the year it gets the greater the chances, IMHO, that the chip shortage slacks enough to have a meaningful factory incentive on Mojave. Plus...
Great post/report! Two comments and a question:
*I'm sure you're right that in-person the Bronco tech is cool and advanced, but that interior looks to have a lot of hard plastic and a lot of big plastic transition areas and bezels. The Jeeps look better in that area to my eyes.
*Extreme Recon...
Safety, reliability, and margin for error for both of those, right? The rating is based around all types of loads in all types of conditions, and violating it increases the wear and tear on the vehicle past what the manufacturer views as reasonable and may, in the wrong circumstances...
Nice! I just ordered a Gecko Mojave from Gupton today too...hope ours don't get mixed up :) I didn't have a prior Gecko but I did have a Hypergreen I picked to get as close to Gecko as I could at the time.
Thank you for this. Is this something you saw first hand or had relayed to you? I'm asking because the color codes are the same for the JL as far as I know and so this could just be a JL ordering screenshot. I've been lurking this forum for months waiting for Gecko and am hopeful that this is...
