As far as I understand I can't walk away from an order I'd almost be fine with loosing 1k.. Once you sign that purchase agreement or whatever it seems like there's no going back
Thanks for the reply. I hear you, Noting the option reads perfectly clear on the build site. Select-trac Full-time 4wd" nothing else, unless clicked into... Just like all the other options, they read perfectly clear and there's no need to click into them..or had bulleted lists. I just didn't see...
I get it. I'm just saying that the lingo isn't as clear and/or as clear to understand for "all" as it is to those who manufacture autos or have experience with this terminology. Thanks for the incite.
And actually that brochure screen cap does a crap job of explaining what selec trac is.. It doesn't state you also get 2h, 4lo, 4hi +Selec-trac. It just reinforces my whole point that one could easily assume that you only get full time 4wd without any additional transfer case settings..
Technically speaking if all four wheels are driven, all the time...it's "technically" full time 4 wheel drive. What automakers chose to describe something is not clear, accessible communication to all. I'm 45, My latest & last ride has been a 04 LJ and Haven't owned anything newer.
Not deflecting but why can you not find clear info on jeep.com website it's definitely an accessibility issue. Even on jeep.com primary/only 4x4 systems page there's no talk of something called select-track see link: 4x4 Systems
I get it, but the dealer only cover choices "I chose" not all the options available. In this world we rely on clear communication. Hell you cannot even find "Select-trac" on the jeep.com primary "4x4 systems" page "link below". Would be great if jeep listed in detail what all the features and...
I wish you could choose a transfer case on the gladiator but there's no option to choose between a command trac and a selec-trac that would have been self evident if the listed the command trac. Or listed the select-trac as an actual transfer case rather than a feature.
Sure am as I didn't understand what it was till I got on this forum..
When I looked at selec-trac option reading into as being "ONLY" full time 4wd.. not assuming you'd also get/have 2hi, 4hi, 4lo.. Assumed that would be a nice option for soccer moms and with all the full time 4wd/All wheel...
Not really,..maybe kinda. All in all I think it comes down to jeep.com clarity in communication.. Why not list two different transferases.. since it is such a significant change.. they list options that are standard that you cannot un-choose... jeep.com should make a better effort to communicate...
It's almost worth loosing the 1k at this point. Noting on the options list, lists a transfer case.. it isn't listed nor did they suggest other options that I may want.
Totally agree, but when you sign that document. You only review the options selected and a transfer case isn't on that list, or any list. Just wish the dealer went over the build on the website and went through options that I missed or "may want" with me.
It's "B"
And Cannot find anyone who can list command trac having better "flexibility" than select-trac as select-trac adds an additional range. Wisconsin winters highly benefit from selec-trac.
I didn't choose Selec-trac.. cause is stated "Full time 4wd" in the title., Knowing it comes with...
Currently having an issue with a a dealer mulling around while my Mojave inching closer and closer to D1 status.. I want "select trac" but wan't a clear option from the get go.
Anyway they cashed my 1000.00 deposit via a phone call, 2-3 days before I was able to come up and sign any order...
Interesting, I'm inn the same boat. they "say" they reached out to a rep.. but who really knows if they wanted the headache..?? Someone said they can just cancel the order.. but maybe dealers are just lazy suckers?
Ordered a Mojave and same day, 4hrs later I received my VIN & VON together . If they actually "order the vehicle" and do not sit on it till it's convenient for them you get the VIN too. In my case I wish it came later as I should have selected "full time 4wd" even though it's not actually full...
