I think they are worth it. I have the diesel and there is very little room under the hood to do anything at all and pulling wires through the firewall will be a pain. My only complaint is the gauge of the wire used. It seems to skinny to me. If you are using a high amperage device that is...
I think my Tazer will clock a zero to 60, but with 600ish miles so far, I have not wanted to push it to the redline. That said, it seems plenty quick to me. I doubt it would beat a V8 Camaro off the line, but it would beat it up a rocky hillside.
I don't know, but don't think so. This cover is totally separate from the trail rails. It could be that one or more of the mounting brackets goes behind the trail rails, such that you would have to unbolt the rails to install the brackets. I would have to look at that. I bought my...
It looked nice and I think the best thing it had going for it is that when it rolled up, there were no tracks down the side of the bed that encroach on the bed space. You have full access to everything, including the trail rails if you have them. My new one offers more security, but comes in...
Took the Jeep on its first hunting trip. I really don’t like the timer on the bed lights. Dealing with gear back there after dark was a pain. I think I sort of solved the problem by opening up a door, but it would be nice if there were a switch in the back. Extra bed lights may be a future project.
piddling more than anything at this point. Preparing to install the winch, bumper and ham radio gear. In the meantime, mounted the axe. I am seriously considering buying the JCR molle panels for the sides too.
When I saw this thread, I had my BAK Revolver X4 on order and my Jeep was on the train. I called BAK and asked them if it was going to be a problem. The guy who answered the customer support line put the phone down and talked to another guy there and then came back on the line and said they...
Waterproof would be a huge selling point for me. I did not think to list it before, so small, smooth corners to fit in the pocket, access to the key for the lockable compartments and waterproof.
I am also a supporter of minimum possible size, but still keeping the key somewhat accessible for the various compartments that it can lock. I think there are six spots in mine that I can lock with that key. I have no interest in keeping it in the slot between the cupholders.
Agreed. I pulled the panel off and it made it a bit easier, but I also realized I could have reached up to the side and done it with the panel on. I put some Velcro tape on the Tazer and the spot next to where the connectors are so that it stays in place. I can reach up with the panel on and...
A great thing about Jeeps. A Texan and an Angry New Yorker can find something to agree upon. (And by the way, I do like New York, just in small doses.)
I learned a new term when I started looking at these: "Lifestyle Vehicle." I am not exactly sure what that means, but I think it means that it is an impractical toy that is fun to mess with and drive around with the top off. If I was a contractor, I would buy a pickup or a van. If I had a...
There is some wonderful stuff called "monkey sh$t" in the Navy that also can be used to seal gaps in openings. I agree that messing with the vents is probably not a good idea. If there was a reasonable pathway higher up, then that was the way I wanted to go. If there is not, and it sounds...
I always got answers like that from them. I would then contact the dealer and he would look it up and give me detailed info and timelines that were generally accurate. When it was on the train, he could even tell me where the train was. If your dealer is a friendly sort, shoot him/her an...
