  1. New Gladiator, what to do?

I get those numbers from the vehicle computer. I have not verified them with fuel nozzle & calculator yet on either Jeep. Please realize that I almost always post higher numbers than most other folks believe. Been doing this for many years. I have proven this to witnesses of it. Two were service...
  2. Windshield

Wow. I have been curious about Dow Corning Gorilla Glass since I required an expensive windscreen replacement during my second week of ownership @ 320 miles on a NEW Ford Fiasco 150 back in 2019. OEM W/S was $800 with calibration fee. the D/C gorilla glass was $$$$ before calibration. I now...
  3. New Gladiator, what to do?

One thought involves the weight of all those steel goodies. Where the weight is & how much. Not just the COG but the total weight. The 3.6 lacks V8 power. I like the 28 mpg of the Pentastar Gladiator. I have installed many heavy steel goodies on my Glad & already see my MPGs drop to 25 on my...
  4. Mopar Ducks.

It's the hostile geese & turkey that concern me, 😂 Nasty, angry birds, but quite tasty.
  5. Who’ll Stop the Rain

I like the rain. Cools me down. What was that Lil' Abner comic quote about rain making the grass grow, & grazing cattle make great steaks? I like steaks.
  6. What did you do TO your Gladiator today? [ADMIN WARNING: NO POLITICS, NO GUN TALK]

I replaced the windscreen today. Original was about as clear as a sorority house window. Hard to peep thru. Installed front & rear class 3 hitches. I never know which way to go, so I covered both ends. Installed Molle panels & side steps last week. Now, I can reach to clean the windows WITHOUT...
  7. Mopar Ducks.

That's smart. Pilots don't want loose items flying around hitting switches & causing mayhem when accumulating flight hours. Very unsafe. I like to secure everything before hitting the road. Unsecured items create a cleanup mess after mishaps. Unsecured items & people get damaged also.
  8. Mopar Ducks.

OUTSTANDING! Keep the spirit alive for those that DO want to engage!
  9. Introductions & Welcome Thread 👋

New member oldironsights here. Screen name signals one current hobby that will be intertwined with the Glad. It will be a portable shooting station. This is my second Jeep truck & a new Compass replaced the Patriot of years past. Both trucks were purchased used, while the lower priced cars...
  10. Mopar Ducks.

Every human is a unique individual. How many others do you know that think like you? I conform to my own wishes. If I wave & another jeep driver that does NOT, I just assume that driver has other priorities at the moment. I dealt with similar attitudes decades ago when I rode motorcycles...
  11. Can an extra oil quart cause a seal leak? Here's some facts -

Well, you are probing the memory of this old boomer. I DID have 3000lb pressure plate springs to hold power in the Jav, but kept the stock pressure plate in the J10. It was a car that only I could drive with its massive clutch & single leading shoe drum brakes. It had a dual diaphragm fuel pump...
  12. Another battery thread, but this one is different AND for the good.

One can also visually check for sulfation & plate warping after removing the cell caps/covers. Batteries tend to favor consistent charging/discharging rates. Charge/discharge spikes create heat that if too high, can cause damage. They also require DISTILLED water; not municipal.
  13. Another battery thread, but this one is different AND for the good.

(anyone here old enough to remember testing the voltage of the individual cells of a battery? Specific gravity? Or the 8 volt batteries you put in a 6 volt car to boost the cranking power?) @66yo, I do.
  14. Can an extra oil quart cause a seal leak? Here's some facts -

Very interesting & informative thread. I have not given much thought to the PCV system on the Pentastar, but this topic is absolutely noteworthy. I just learned something new. Others will too. I have spent most of my years trying to reduce crankcase pressure on boosted engines running between 10...
  15. Another battery thread, but this one is different AND for the good.

Kudos to kevman65. Outstanding. The key to longer lead acid battery life for me is as follows. Keep the + & - posts clean. I use dow corning dielectric grease on mine. Keep the battery surfaces clean & free of dirt that can cause power to "leak" out by providing a voltage path between + & -...
  16. Mopar Ducks.

Was not aware Mini Cooper has this. Both my Glad Sport "S" & 08 Mini Cooper "S" have been so much fun, I know I will face more trouble with the law. Traded the Mini due to the bad New Orleans streets creating carnage below. As a Linux fan, there may be a "Tux" the penguin in my Glad, but no toy...
