I'm back in town, but buddy with a steel bumper is out of town until Tuesday. If someone can even mail me a cardboard mockup it would do wonders. As of now just kind of in the dark.
Or maybe my dealer has one on the lot...
Hey all,
I'm potentially moving to Washington in the not so distant future, was wondering what the general availability was for OHV trails and land access? I've recently spent a bunch of time in CO, UT and Idaho and loved the BLM land and ability to just see a trail and head down it.
But in...
Hey Benny, can you confirm a couple of things on the Mopar roof rails?
They say not recommended for canoe/kayak carrying. Do you know why?
Are they designed to only go on the rear section (not the freedom top)? I read maybe this is why for #1, because the cross bars are not far enough fore/aft.
To be clear, EXX ratings are UP TO.
So often if you measure the ethanol content it won't be close to the rated "up to" amount.
And the higher the ethanol content, the lower the fuel efficiency. It often doesn't scale 1:1 and costs more. E85 is generally 30% less efficient but costs 20% less...
If it were mine, I'd probably cut the broken section off as cleanly as possible (wear PPE) and then just paint over it to make sure it's sealed.
You could probably try to rebuild it by laying more fiberglass and epoxy over it but I'm not skilled enough for that.
Reviving from the dead - what's the length of your canoe? And what ended up being your bow line solution? I was hoping one of the taller front bumper hoops would bring the line high enough to avoid the paint.
Yeah... A few hundred bucks on purchases this big shouldn't be deal breakers unless you really don't need a vehicle. I couldn't imagine waiting 6mo hoping to get another percent.
Also, keep an eye out on the side of the interstate and don't hesitate to wander down them. There are roads that run parallel that I found myself on for 4 hours or so. And of course, the fastest racecars and best off-roaders are always the rental cars ;)

It's not off-roading specific but you have to give Bryce Canyon a shot.
I almost passed it up on my road trip from Denver -> Moab -> Zion -> Salt Lake and I'm so happy I didn't. As a bonus, they have a bunch of good fire roads with beautiful sights if you still want to hit some dirt.
