Yeah the Clayton guys are nice, but they gave me some bad info about their kit and the Falcon 3.3 shocks which backfired and cost me a ton of money for nothing...I am looking at the AEV kit now because of the tuning...I feel that may be the missing link in solving my ride quality issues...
Tire pressures are one of the biggest head scratchers for me and this Jeep. If my pressures at 33-34 pounds, the truck rides decent. The Clayton springs are still too stiff and rest of their components are absolute garbage.
Below 33/34 pounds, it shakes constantly and above it's like the...
How is the highway ride quality? I currently have a Clayton ride right kit and it rides horrible. I changed shocks a couple times and nothing helps these stiff springs.
How does it do with pot holes, bridge transitions and other road imperfections. With my current setup I feel literally...
You are 100% correct about it being the biggest head scratcher. I have dealt with around 20 shops all over the country as well multiple parts manufacturers and none of them have ever heard dof this and none of them have had a clue as to how to fix it.
Naturally when I contacted Jeep and they...
Well 280 pounds had no effect on the ride. I had over 600 pounds when the bouncing started. I've had 4 sets of shocks, from factory to Falcon 3.3s, none of them made any difference. I've 3 sets of springs, none of them made any difference. The only thing that helped is removing weight, which...
I have a carrier bearing drop bracket, it didn't help. The only thing I've found that helps with the bouncing is to remove weight or increase the tire pressures. I had 600ish pounds on mine and dropped down to around 200 and now the bouncing only happens on a couple of roads.
You are experiencing exactly what I've been dealing with for over 2 years. In the winter it's worse because the tire pressures are lower. If my pressures are below 33/34 pounds it bounces horribly. Are you carrying any weight on the truck? I also had a local shop suggest that the frame is...
They will definitely make the truck ride better. I do t care what any person or company says, the front lower arms the most important arms to address in the front.
The shocks were new when I added the KO2s and now I have another new set of shocks. I rotated the KO2s every 3-4k miles and all four of them cupped...I haven't rotated the Falkens at all and only the fronts are cupping so I'm convinced there's something in the front end causing it...I just can't...
The issue I think I'm getting as a result of the angle of the LCAs is that my tires are cupping. I installed them right after I got my KO2s and they tires were cupped so badley after 30k miles that Discount Tire replaced them under warranty. I went with Falken AT3Ws and after 15k miles, they...
Can anyone explain to me what side effects may be created by the front lower control arms being angled down, slightly toward the ground, toward the rear of the truck?
I added a set of geometry correction brackets and now the arms are not level.
I had a random popping sound last year from the front passenger a pillar area. It was the windshield bolt. It had come loose. That has happened twice in the last year even though I've never had the windshield down.
None of the hardtop including the freedom panels should ever rattle. Everything about mine rattles, pops, snaps and creaks but i think it's just trying to constantly piss me off. I have the world's worst OCD with noises also. My previous 4 JKUs all had hardtops and they never made a sound.
My hardtop pops all over when the weight of the Jeep shifts. It's been doing it for over 2 years. It drives absolutely crazy, but I have no clue what is causing it.
Last year it started rattling for no reason at all. I looked everywhere and after about 3 months I figured out it was the bolts...
