Also can anyone tell me if the ridge above the threads on the oil filter
Sarge,
Kinda hard to get a picture with it mounted on the engine but here is a picture of the filter/cooler assy with oil filter torqued on at 25nm that filter lip is now resting on the filter assy. Hope this helps.
When I changed oil for 1st time on mine (Feb) it only dropped to the 1/4 mark on the hatch marks. At the dealer When I picked it up(Nov 4 2023) oil was reading a little higher than halfway. So less than half a quart loss over 5k. Hopefully it will be less on the next oil change.
Kinda the same here. Not my first diesel but not fully trusting the dealership experience. Lowest man on the totem pole often gets the thankless job of oil changes. Now we only get two waves..... " vehicles sold on or after July 17, 2023, have a 2-year (24-month) membership and maintenance...
My trusty Harbor Freight Click Torque wrench and wobble extension to get around the brake lines which just happen to be in line with the filter assy. 25 nm = 18.4 foot lb = 221 inch lb
Dealership didn't have any in stock so I ordered from Dieselfiltersonline.com . Figure I will stick with factory parts. This place has the factory parts at about 20+ dollars cheaper than the Dealer...
Thanks will do :) hoping the Aluminum numbers are not a trend but I do have the 125K 8 year max care so not to worried at this point... just documenting as I go ;)
Got my first Oil sample report back..... I'm sure the jeep wave would be ok but I like doing my own as I plan on having this truck for a few years. Monitoring the oil while in a stock state allows me to make informed decisions before I add items such as a different tune etc...... as I see what...
Mine was one of the first ones completed at the Factory. Background history ordered 8 Mar build date started 12 April and went into Storage on 18 April...meaning it never left the lot and was shipped to the dealer after pump replacement sometime in Oct( as the scheduling guy was also not...

Completed my first Oil change on the Glad. 5159 miles. Added what I consider to be a boon to mankind.... my Fumoto F106s valve. I have them on all my vehicles, past and present.
When I cloned my ECM I had to test it out to make sure no weird check lights etc. There was just enough room to rotate connectors and connect on top of fuse box. So if you were serious about this just buy a spare fuse box cover, JB weld a couple of studs mounted to bar stock in the correct...
Totally Transparent. I decided to buy local because they were able to go that far under MSRP. Fully loaded 2023 JTRD ordered in Mar 2023 and delivered later in the year. Better communications from Koons than the factory ;) . Would do it again.
I have no grudges against smaller engines that have turbos. This allows you to get better gas mileage while driving a vehicle with the aerodynamics of a barn door. Our 2020 JLU has the turbo 2.0 liter and our 2023 JTR has the turbo diesel. With a full tank of fuel both vehicles will go over...
2023 JTRD. USB port in console gets power thru F11. Motorola AA adapter always looking for signal. Installed jumper as described by others tapping into F53. Works awesome . Port has power until I open the doors.... vs the old way of adapter staying on and draining my phone battery when I got...
Justin is the man. Longest time was waiting for ALI-Express, they left out the USB Dongle in my first order..... so had to order Dongle in a second order.
1. Installed software
2.disconnected batteries,
3.Pulled PCM, hooked harness up to computer, copied files, installed files on new...
Mine has 125k 8 year so i know I'm covered. I still put EDT in every tank and will follow the maintenance plan religiously. Mine was on the factory lot still being built when they replaced the HPFP so under 20 miles, so not really worried at this point. pretty sure system is still covered.
Stick it out. (although Punkin is a nice color) the torque available throughout the powerband and the additional 10mpg you get from the diesel on the highway is so much more fun........ plus your still covered under 100k powertrain...too bad they didn't have diesels in the mojave.
Yes. Without hesitation.
My diesel experience comes mostly from the military. 2 and 1/2 ton multi fuel 6x6, 5ton tractors, LMTVs, tracked vehicles M113, M109A5s. On deployments M998/M1026 HUMMVWs /MRAPs (speed is your friend when avoiding heat sensor triggered fun) and up-armored Toyota...
Update: I finished the 60/40 split on my GG rear seat delete homemade version. Taking trip after Christmas and need room for human to travel in back seat. I eventually will probably have to take dedicated days off from work to install the Armorlite flooring still in the box.
So before the...
