I might be taking what you are saying and going on a separate goat path….
I definitely think that the North American car market is going to be transitioning to what most of the rest of the world is using. You pay for what you get. I lived in Europe for almost 10 years, and you will not find...
Hello to all!
I just installed a decked system. Not sure if we love it or hate it. Pretty stoked that our snomaster fits in the canopy still ? and there looks to be room for a tilt slider still!!
Anyways! I noticed a decent amount of room below the floor- has anyone gotten cleaver and mounted...
No doubt. EGR system, DPF, DEF, SCR? (Not 100% on that last one…) I could see why…
But you are also very informed with the issues on the 3.6 as shown in another thread ?
My comment was based around the in line and it’s ability to produce torque.
I think folks want that 4.0 reliability… but...
This could very well be true- I’ll look around today sometime to see if I can confirm what transfer case is under the jeep (I’ll probably climb under and see if it’s marked).
The np231 that was in JK rubicon’s, in high was 2.7, low was 4.0:1.
I posted above that it looks like the JT diesel...
???. That’s pretty good…. Any chance you fill up at the top of a long downhill stretch ?
I hit any speed over 68mph and it drops from 26-28 to 24s. Still can’t complain about the box!
I don’t think anyone cares truely what someone else does with their money. It’s just a matter of function. You build and buy a Jeep and do not take it off road…? They don’t bring a whole lot more to the party. They are pretty crappy on fuel economy, the rides pretty well crap, noisy, and for...
You have a gas motor/tank! Check out the rock krawler 4link setup. It’s going to offer the best flex with reliability.
I personally prefer low and slow to off road. Lowest center of gravity possible… 2.5-3.5” lift tops.
If this isn’t a daily driver, find a kit (like rock krawler or whoever...
This is awesome!
I might be blind…. Or misinformed. The rubicon diesel transfer case is the MP1622 correct?
I’m using this for reference:

I was looking for this information to make a decision on differential gears. Totally understand the torque rating differences/ overall differences. The challenging part was sourcing the gear ratios- both of these transmissions are used in so many applications it makes it challenging to know...
I agree that I have found comments saying that they are the same, but I have not found anything definitive that shows what each gears ratio is for each trans. Given the power band differences I would expect there to be a difference in ratios.
Especially since the manufacturer opted to only...
I too find it comedic. As many have posted here already- it’s to each their own.
I find it challenging to rationalize a lot of peoples choices- I live by function. Why by a vehicle that was made to go off road if you aren’t going to go off road? It doesn’t get very good gas mileage, their...
VKS Fab has frame mounted sliders.
I recommend welding them on vs “bolting”. They have held up well- we have used them on several outings to pivot the truck around rocks.
I cannot find a definitive answer.
Trying to find the ratio’s of each gear for both transmissions to compare
3.0 has the 8HP75
3.6 has the 850RE
A lot of sources folks are claiming that they are the same…. But they are different units- so I would imagine the ratios are different for several...
We planned to bob ours before it was even ordered! Some folks just don’t understand…. Most of them do not really wheel anything more difficult than a forest road…. “Why didn’t you buy a JL” is probably my favorite….
So 3” back spacing, 40” tire, what axles, ball joints and steering are you running?
The JT seems like it turns “ok” on 37’s with the steering pressure boosted, but kinda feel like 40’s aired down is probably not going to be ideal in the rocks…
I do understand that the JL/Jt 44’s are stronger...
I can’t help you with anything published but had a set of 37” ko2’s on my JK for daily use and a set of 37 Nitto trail grapplers on beadlocks for off road. Ko’2’s when newer measured less than 36”’s and the nittos measured almost 37” when mounted. Ram nittos at 32psi until I hit the trail, aired...
Bfg’s are one of the smallest out there. Or the “least true to size”.
their 39” isn’t 37, but their 37’s measure in the 35” range- 35.75.
If I were looking at a 37” bfg, I would spring for the 39 and figure out a tire mount. Or look at a more true to size tire- Nitto?
