I think there are a lot of winch bumpers that don’t stick out very far, perhaps less than the factory ones with the crash cans. Go to the winch section and scroll through there there are a lot of pictures of different bumpers.

Others have put synthetic on steel winches but you are paying for cable and a roller you will toss Superwinch has a 7500 model that has a cover over line and Rough Country has a nice 9,000 synthetic with a easily remotes control box for less then the Badlands and line just options!
