I have gecko ( I had to have it . Zero regrets!)
1 hydro blue
2 granite crystal , a nice safe choice
3 white idk, I like it
We have had a punkin 2dr JLR
We have a hellayella 4dr JLUW
I love both colors .
Whish list colors, a rich cinnamon pearl metallic , a deep metallic green , a...
I used a quality red wheel bearing grease , and tossed some diff lube in the bearing and over shaft and moving parts for good measure ( think cam lube levels of lubricant) . I wasn't shy. Still no issues , working properly.
Sometimes getting a good deal is more about getting what you want than how much you save in the process .. Obviously there are limitations , but walking away 1/2 satisfied while getting the cheapest price will quickly wear away . I just faced this decision and went all in . I am happy I didn't...
It's just alright . Does the job no complaints there . A diesel would be better in my current state of build for fuel mileage. However entry cost, fuel cost ,and maintenance would probably average out ... Maybe . I will say the 2.0T in our JLU absolutely seals the show between it and the 3.6.
It's either the green jeep (as apposed to our yellow JL) , the truck , the green one .
Officially it's name is Martin because it's gecko.
Our JL is Rakkit because all or noises it makes while off-road .
Remember Rubicon's have wider axles ( unless you have a max tow) . Also Rubicon fenders are slightly wider I believe . I honestly haven't compared fender coverage in relation to axle width between the narrow and wide setups tho.
Zero offset is fine , but if you want to maximize back side clearance and tuck the tire as much as possible zero offset 8.5" wheel width is where it's at . Gives you the best blend of wheel width , front , and backside clearance. Remember a zero offset 9" wheel has a different backspace than a...
4.10s and 37s are livable if you're flat and at lower elevation . However it's less than ideal for sure , and you are knee capping the capabilities for your truck. Not to mention it's easier on the upstream components . I ran stock gears for a short time , and it only took one highway trip to...
Manual or auto trans ?
Where do you live ? Elevation / terrain Normal highway speed ( 55?65?75+?)
Do you plan to tow or haul ? Often?
The short answer is with the gas engine a regear is the rite way to go for 35s/3.73.
Will the truck operate with 35s and 3.73s daily , yes . But I would...
If you want to tuck inside the stock fenders and still have a bit of poke I suggest a (your choice) x9 wheel and +12-+18 offset . It will tuck and clear a 12.50 on a stock arm or aftermarket arms with a clearance bend.
You can clear bigger rubber 13.50 or 38s but it gets tight at the lca on...
Definitely not just you . Guilty over here also . If you honestly can't say you ever turn back to admire your ride , you are probably driving the wrong vehicle. Just sayin ..
I'll play . Let me preface first. I've owned and driven over 100 vehicles to date , and I'm 41. Take that for something, or not.?.
My last 5
2018 Tacoma TRD 6spd 33s

I live in Michigan, fall temps , pretty flat , low elevation .
37x12.50 stt pro ,4.10s drove great , but maybe saw 16-17mpg on road trips at 70mph. 8th was barely used , 7th pretty much always . 2" front and 1.5" rear . Stubby bumper and fender chop , tazer speedo corrected .
5.13 ...
I going to chime in here on my own personal findings . My JTR started making the intermittent rumble strip sound which became more and more frequent. I couldn't get an appointment for service for 4 weeks min anywhere in my area. I decided to look at an exploded view of the fad/ axle shafts ...
I would say if chalking , once you hit the max psi with proper contact patch for your tire any lower would yield diminishing returns . And on a light loaded glad 1 psi in a 40x13.50 is more like several in a 33/35 due to volume . Personally I would think 22 cold is low . 24-26 maybe in range tho...
