Agree the diagnosis is ignorant. But trying to argue a point that the a 37" tire didn't contribute to worn steering would be a hard fought battle in my eyes . But the question really is how many miles on the rig ? How many with the 37s . Because if it was really early on then you may have a fair...
True story . As I have done so on 38s . Get the suspension and steering setup correctly , tight and rite . Problems will be gone . Doesn't mean the dealer will or has to warranty a damn thing tho.
I can agree that the posted sizes on the manufacturer website is probably inaccurate to some degree . However anyone measuring ( especially vertically) a tire mounted on a vehicle under weight and comparing those #s isn't helping . Those #s are at the very least mounted on a given wheel width...
Old thread here being revived. I ran 33s then 37s (stt pro) and now 38x13.50r17 trail graps . Yes they are heavy and my choice tire would be 39x13.50 KM3 . But the 38s are pretty much in line with the 37s. No real negative take aways . Fuel mileage is down a bit , and the tires have there own...
Honestly it's reasonable to expect . It sucks , but steering and suspension are wear items . 37s are going to wear stuff out faster . Good news is the aftermarket is here to help( as you already know) . So they can keep the 35s . I'm going to be right behind you pretty soon . Lol.
Agree with above . And above . Rotational mass is probably most noticable in the brake dept . But If you can shut it down controlled in a panic stop with the typical load out then you're probably fine . It's not like your on a track putting heat in the brakes turn after turn . There are...
I can appreciate this , it's just methodology really . We can debate the reasoning , but all that matters in the end is that you are happy and having fun . Otherwise why even buy a jeep . Yes people are going to make a buck on anything , it is what it is . I choose to build and maintain my own...
Dia ( or effective drive radius really) is more of a factor than weight . However weight does play a factor on both performance and parts life . I would still go 37s on a gladiator .
We have had some pretty slick speedy cars over here along side a truck , or jeep, or jeep truck . However I finally decided I can't continue to drive said cars on metro Detroit roadways . Traded our GTI in for a JLU and never looked back . Love the fuel economy and fun , but cringing at every...
I feel you on the repairs under warranty that the dealer can't fix due to lack of parts , help , or knowledge.... That's a jagged pill when you buy a new rig.
Are you sure it's the spacers ? Worth checking . If you are making noise when really flexing it could be the control are bushings maxing out ( rotationally) and being forced to spin the inner sleeve on the bolt. I have rubi springs and Daystar spacers on our 2021 JLU Willy's , with rubi...
I can't see why your springs would be unseating at all with stock length shocks and a 1.5 spacer . But to answer your question I'd look into synergy 2" front springs , and 2" rears , if you want rake . Lots of free length and nice riding .
FWIW , I have a 21 Rubicon . It has the new steering box. I would say there is an improvement to be had in the steering damper dept stock or not . I started with stock which is fine , then went to an icon centerline thru shaft . This didn't really do much so I removed it and sold it . I then...
Thanks for the info . I had the de opportunity to get a set 3 times . I kind a have the same regret. The reason I didn't is they are so scarce it would be my luck I would need to buy a new one after unfortunate events and not be able to source any.
The Jk is just as likely to have issues as as the JT /JL platform or for that matter any other newer vehicle . Yours could have been relatively trouble free and that's awesome , so could the JT . It's a roll of the dice , but I wouldn't let that stop me at age 70. I have had 2 JL and a JT ...
