  1. How important is weight of tire?

Sorry I was referring to the post you quoted where someone was getting 400 /tank on 35s 3.37s . My mileage is like yours .
  2. How important is weight of tire?

I've never seen fuel mileage like that stock driving conservatively . was it a diesel?
  3. 4" or 6" lift? This is my first Jeep, so many options.

My truck (rubi ) in Mi driving ( low elevation , rolling hills ) was absolutely fantastic with 37x12.50r17 and 5.13 gears . It had 2.5" front and 1.5" rear total lift . Fuel mileage was 16or better at 75mph . Steering, and ride were like stock . After 4/2 lift and 38x13.50s there has been a...
  4. 4" or 6" lift? This is my first Jeep, so many options.

Also the highline fenders , wide axles , and 4/1 t case gears .
  5. 4" or 6" lift? This is my first Jeep, so many options.

The OP has a Willy's , and it's a nice package . It's just my suggestion , but let's not start with a tone that runs the new kid in class off . Obviously there are plenty of options on a Willy's that can really improve looks and performance. With that said unless a regear is budgeted I would...
  6. 4" or 6" lift? This is my first Jeep, so many options.

I want to add that the key to unlocking the lift vs tire fitment cheat code is in your fenders and wheel offset . Oem Rubicon or aftermarket fenders will allow 37" on a 2" lift all day . And I can honestly say the Gladiator likes 2" alot better than 4" for daily duty . 3.73 gears are not going...
  7. 4" or 6" lift? This is my first Jeep, so many options.

The preface for the the op's question leads me to believe 2-4"(4" at max) would be plenty. Approx 4" on a Willy's with stock fenders will clear 37s and that's already pushing the gearing at minimum. I don't want to presume any undue ignorance because plenty of folks understand the implications...
  8. Confused about fenders and DRL/turn signals (Sport or Sport S fitment).

There is this option also . Plug and play sequential . I did not remove the second step of the fender and still have the oem liners installed also . Looks pretty darn clean . They have both Rubicon and non Rubicon fitments.
  9. Fog lights in steel bumper

There are I believe 3 or 4 different types . I want to say 3 point and 4 point mounting , led or non led . I just went through this with my fab fours bumper . Easy to find a solution . I went with oracle ( factor plug too) super happy .
  10. NITTO RECON Grappler

I'm a bit ignorant to the recons , but I thought the size/load was geared toward fullsize rigs .
  11. 17 inch vs 18 inch wheels

I love going the practical route . However I never seem satisfied. I went 295/70r18 on a build with that thought . After I was like well... And went to a lighter load and weight 325/65r18 . Truck was visually more appealing and actually rode better . Just my experience tho.
  12. 17 inch vs 18 inch wheels

The only reason in this case would be if the particular tire you want ( load , tread , ect ) was only available in 18" or like others have said the look . For example I run 38s . Not a ton of options . But an interesting one is 38x13.50 yokahama xmt . It's only available in a 18" variety. Now...
  13. Comparing JT to JL Off-Road Capabilities

I don't think we should compare the different trims so simply. Lockers on a Rubicon can for sure out perform a shorter wb or taller tire. It really depends on the terrain or driver . I do believe for most all situations the JLU is the best overall proportioned . And I've had JLR , JLUW and JTR...
  14. oem rubicon 3pc bumper opinions?

It is really preferential for sure . Nothing wrong with that. Durability is superior with aftermarket tho. However if you hang a battering ram on the front all the force still goes somewhere and people need to consider that too.
  15. oem rubicon 3pc bumper opinions?

I would say go aftermarket. The oem is just alright . And once you put a plate on it you could have put that $ toward a better bumper. However if you really like the oem+ look or are staying mild with your build . The oem will better compliment that . JMO of course. Check out the Barnes Pickett...
  16. 2021 Gladiator Rubicon MPG

I would be astonished if the recal is the only issue . You would know if the speedo was reading that far off. Also do a hand calc on your next fill up . You will need to drive a know distance tho , or log miles on a separate GPS.
  17. 2021 Gladiator Rubicon MPG

Stock mine was at like 19.2 over 2200 mile road trip 37x12.50 STT Pro , 4.10 . 15.5 -16 37s 5.13 . 16-17 38x13.50 Trail Grap 5.13. 12.7-14 Now I have stubby bumper with non recessed winch , pod lights , and fender chop . Basically a parachute . I'm at low elevation and all were...
  18. ordered 39s and request help shopping lift kits + shocks

Just something to consider , while the rock monsters may be dot legal , alot of states have laws against multi piece wheels . This voids the legality. I love those wheels too tho, but would rather run kmc machete -38 if I was going for that stance. Or have a set of wheels made ( forged $$$) ...
  19. ordered 39s and request help shopping lift kits + shocks

I've seen wheels break and the spacer still there strong as ever . Still I wouldn't opt to build a rig around spacers unless I had a bomber set of wheels that required it. I would rather get the correct offset from the word go. What's the attraction to the spacers ? Just curious I guess .BTW...
