  1. Dometic or ARB fridge?

Another thing that I have considered is getting one of those little inverter generators to power the fridge and lights at night. The truck powers the fridge while we are moving so I usually only need power at night. The Battleborn batteries are sweet but the cost a ton of money. You could buy...
  2. Dometic or ARB fridge?

My big thing was space and not needing to stop for ice. Since the cooler is actually a 12V refrigerator you can pact it completely full of food and drinks without saving space for all of the ice.
  3. Dometic or ARB fridge?

I hadn’t really thought about starting a thread on it. It really isn’t a difficult setup. I just have a NOCO 12V plug and a NOCO extension cord that I run to the bed and up through the tailgate. I take it out when not using it. When I install the BattleBorn lithium deep cycle system I’ll share...
  4. Dometic or ARB fridge?

I run it on a 12V system connected directly to the battery and the plug in the bed. You can set it up to turn off when the voltage gets too low but I haven’t had it turn off yet.
  5. Dometic or ARB fridge?

They hardly draw any power at all. I haven’t had any problems at all with it running the battery down overnight. I am in the process of setting up a BattleBorn lithium battery setup. I just got it in August so we haven’t done any extended trips where the truck isn’t run every day.
  6. Dometic or ARB fridge?

Another vote for the Dometic. I have the CFX95DZW. It is a dual zone setup so I can run two different temps. One for drinks and normal food and one for frozen food. Only drawback is that it is HUGE! Thing weighs 70 lbs empty but I have four kids now so I need it to be that big.
  7. Complete Trailering & Towing Guide & Glossary

I am old enough to remember the days where we would load up a 5000 lb trailer with no brakes and hook it to the bumper hitch of my dad's Econoline Ford van with an under powered 302 that could barely move the van itself down the road. My point is that the new technology is important but good...
  8. First time Jeep owner in the Snow.

With all of that said I would add that even thought your Jeep will go like crazy your 4wd does not add anything to your braking performance. You van go out and climb trees but you still can’t stop.
  9. Anyone install rear air bags to help prevent squatting while towing?

The only problem I am having is getting a straight answer as to which Air Lift springs I need. I have an LE with 2 inch Mopar lift and 37s and they do not have anything listed on the website that would fit properly. Then I watched the Gladiator install video and the kit comes with a spacer for...
  10. Anyone install rear air bags to help prevent squatting while towing?

I am thinking about air bags mainly for adjusting the ride height when loaded with cargo. I also believe that balance is important so a weight distribution hitch is the best bet. With my Decked, supplies and loaded up Dometic CFX95 cooler I get a decent amount of squat and I’m getting tired of...
  11. Mods, delete if inappropriate.

I’m not criticizing you but I have a question for you. What could possibly have been inappropriate about your story? As a guy trying to get himself into Heaven I think more people should be doing what you did and spreading the word that the world isn’t as bad as it is portrayed to be and...
  12. Alright who was having a little too much fun in their JT last night?

There are two videos. One doesn’t mention alcohol at all and one does. I checked the police blotter for the police department involved and there is no mention of this guy. As someone who is in business of caring for the people who experience these accidents I can tell you that after a luck...
  13. Anyone considering 34”?

All tires will be shorter than their advertised diameter when mounted on a vehicle and on the ground. It not the contact patch would be too small to function. My 37x12.5 KO2s are stated to be 36.6 inches tall and they are 35.5 inches tall on the trick. I put 35.5 in the programmer when I...
  14. 4.10s &37s what speed are you hitting 8th?

I have 37 KO2s on my LE and I hit 8th gear with a trailer attached. It doesn’t pull very hard in 8th and will drop down on any sort of an incline but goes up to 8th and coasts as long as it can. In my opinion 8th gear is not a cruising gear it is to get the rpm as low as possible while the...
  15. Tire Pressure On Larger Tires?

I’m not going to hurl any insults but if a person was to inflate the tires to 80 PSI and then drive it it would be very very dangerous. At that PSI the tires will be so rigid that they will be unable to maintain contact with the road. I am assuming that the $150/hour is for advice on...
  16. Alright who was having a little too much fun in their JT last night?

If there was alcohol or other drugs involved then I have no sympathy. But 2:30 AM could be driver fatigue and a jacked up intersection. I’m out that time of the night all fall and winter long on my way to the woods. Now I am the exception to the rule because most people on the road at that time...
  17. Alright who was having a little too much fun in their JT last night?

did you even bother to watch the embedded video in the news story? They said there are frequent accidents there because of the road design, 2 years ago a tractor trailer smashed through the concrete barrier that stopped the Jeep and plummeted to the interstate below.
  18. Alright who was having a little too much fun in their JT last night?

What I noticed is that all four doors of the Gladiator were still able to be opened and closed after the accident. That tells me that the truck's frame is very sturdy. Makes me feel a little bit better about overall safety.
  19. Towing Temps

I see temps like that just driving around town. My JK didn't even crack the thermostat until it hit 210 and the fan cut in at 226 (I think.) I did a little research a while back and learned that the combination you want is hot oil and cold water. Oil temps of at least 220 are ideal for...
  20. Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) works in stop and go traffic?

It will stop for a few seconds. As soon as you come to a full stop the display will tell you ACC turning off apply brake (or something like that). If traffic moves again before the system times out it will take off on it's own.
