I really liked the one on my Colorado. But once installed, I never had to mess with it again. Rolled it up and back many times. Not comfortable with these problems the X4S seems to be having on the Gladiator.
That is totally UNACCEPTABLE. I had an X4 on a Colorado before I got the Jeep. It stayed flat and it was on the truck for several years. BAK needs to fix this immediately. I would want my money back.
Won’t be getting a BAK anytime soon. They need to fix this before I get another one.
Yup it is sealed. Would not work without something to bounce the sound wave off of.
The shape is not critical. Just the centerline length based on the rpm(frequency) of your drone.
Sorry, I don’t have that truck anymore. If I remember, you put a strip on each side and at the bottom. I also believe the strips went on the bed side and not on the tailgate.
If I remember right from installing on a previous truck you are correct. You get a thick and thin bulkhead seal and two thinner seals for the tailgate.
I will be getting an X4 soon. Loved it on my other truck.

Watched the video. Seems like a guy trying to sell amsoil filters. Doesn’t know the difference between psi and psid. His description of the other brand filters is not correct. But it is an interesting design for a bypass valve.
Guessing the new design was to prevent the failures of the...
Live at the beach. Bought it for the convertible top. No lift necessary. Probably put some good road tires on when the at’s wear out. To each his own. Do what you like, it’s your truck.
I would agree with what others have said. If you have a drone with the stock exhaust, something is wrong. Stock exhaust has basically no sound at anytime.
We kinda bent it around to rest on the exhaust pipe for support. Looks a little strange but works very good. Length is the important piece of the equation and not really shape.
Most systems have a resonance point. I believe both of ours had max drone around 2100 rpm. Thus the 32 inch j pipe. I will try and get a pic of my j pipe. It is mostly above the actual exhaust pipe.
If you are trying to go a little quieter and a little cheaper, try just removing the suitcase muffler and leave the two resonators. This might not drone and give you some sound.
Been traveling and will be for another week or so. Don’t know if the cell phone will do it justice.
Front resonator and suitcase muffler removed. 32 inch jpipe on mine. Still liking the sound and don’t see any reason to change anything. My jpipe probably looks more like a u, but shape is not...
