I have to agree with JacO4, the Mopar CAI with out cutting the hood, and although I am using the supplied Mopar high performance air filter it is still a basically stock
just deeper filter , but it sounds great when getting on it , and as in a exhaust upgrade don’t expect a big improvement or...
Another huge expensive orange mod, but does it count when it is not really on the Mojave but you do sit on it! Rocking chairs that work on the beach even without the rug..priceless!…..Jack
Ran down to Hatteras for some surf fishing for a week, camper is at a camp site on the dunes with a little bit of a view with ocean. Water is running hard using the big guns and heavy lead where we are, only one fish so far but who cares!….Jack
If anyone is really thinking about these they had a Black Friday sale at 20% off, brings the UMHW skids down $600 , sale is over by a day but call them and talk to them they might honor it yet.
Wife and I decided to wait , just bad timing, BUT she thinks it is a good idea…..Jack
I actually run a Warfab hitch skid, with a locking pin, and a piece of heavy rubber wedged between the skid and the hitch, tight no rattle at all. Also use a rubber hitch plug that fits inside the receiver, with a twist I have the skid in regular and the rubber plug in from the front, just fits...
Refurbed some used Dana diff. covers, painted with “Steel it” , and the Dana name plates were shot so had to put something there like High Viz orange tape. Also put a Artec FAD skid on…..Jack
Next Venture has a 20% off Black Friday sale , puts their aluminum full belly skid at just under $2000 ($1999!) down from $2499. Trying to decide to ask for permission or forgiveness! Christmas is coming I have always loved having grandkids, like the year Santa got Papa Jack a Browning camo...
A little over the top I guess but really under side, put refurbished Dana diff covers on, the name plates were shot and that big square was just calling out for something…Orange Hi-Vis reflective tape on “Steel it” painted covers……Jack
OPA, I am out of control on skids, won’t be lifting my Mojave or bigger then true 33”for towing and reliability, have used Dana diff covers that a nice forum member named “Crash Ed “gave me, blasted them and “Steel it” painted so if weekend goes well I’ll have some diff protection, and Artec FAD...
I use Trailheads, USA product when I bought t hem and no problems, they can be taken apart and cleaned, never got sand in mine after all these years, and I agree about the ones taking the stem out seems more of a chance of something going wrong. Sorry Mike it's all I got not much help .....jack
Ecidiego sucks you are having problems , I have had the Rusty’s from 9/2021, went on hard but no cutting or anything , and am impressed with how solid they are , I considered other brands but preferred the Rusty’s setup using factory bolt and have two more bolts, wish they powder coated them...
I work in quarries we always get stuff in our tires ,they have us stop at the tire place for an inside patch and plug, my Goodyear Wrangler Kevlar tires have had less flats then my other sets and have about 75,000 on them now (and in need of replacement), but I have two plugged and patched...
Quail01, just realized you asked me about my winch in plastic bumper, I did save a lot of weight and even at the 75 lbs. total added there was more that should have been subtracted so more like 70 pounds total, BUT a lot of work and time instead of just bolting on like the one you have. ….Jack
Front shackle mounts don’t look too bad have four bolts through side of frame for each one, plus attached to bumper. Yup you should not bother installing it, I’ll flip ya the $50 bucks!
Winch should fit others have done it, it’s tight and you might want to get a pair of 1/4”or 3/8” spacers, a...
One other thing Quail 01, are those shackle mounts down below bumper in line with tow hooks? If so And that is a tow hook shackle mount combo , I am going to have look into that ,pretty clean look……..Jack
Quail 01, I love that bumper looks finished instead of something just bolted together, I have a Mojave and if going steel that would be a top contender. Looking at the picture it is not a Mojave or Rubicon plastic bumper skid, you will probably have to get a metal skid for the metal bumper...
OHJeeper replied that he has ACC and there is a connector plugged into that connector under cowl and that wire goes back into the firewall , so perhaps it is for ACC…..Jack
Factorr 55 flat link is a clean way to have the line stored, I was pretty anal about protecting my line from UV rays, so wrapped 3M electrical tape around end of the thimble. your ride looks great, the floor is awesome....Jack
One little problem with the Skid Row exhaust loop skid is it requires you to remove the “cross arm” that protects the transmission oil pan and can not be put back on. That sorta sucks, also that I didn’t read installation instructions when ordering sucks more. I’m going to try and modify the...
