2-3 posts above, @SgtMajTomahawk & @OMTBiker posted several pictures of both styles you're deciding between ... not exactly side by side, but maybe close enough?
Alright! Winch is assembled, mounted, and wired to a solenoid & Aux 3 under the hood.
I used a steel bracket I had laying around as a mount for the solenoid (idea from other forum members). I put a few soft pads between the bracket and the paint on the JT.
I had to crimp & solder a few ring...
I might post a few more pics after my build is complete. I took the pic below during a quick stop on my drive home from the dealership.
In the meantime, I'm going to post each step of the build in my build journal here ... https://www.jeepgladiatorforum.com/forum/threads/the-beast.29323/

Washed the bugs off of my grill, headlights, and hood ... then installed my hood protector.

Then, a 3-way bumper swap ... Removed bumper...
I'll probably post this in the Dealerships Thread as well.
BWI airport - (Baltimore) is a hub for Spirit, so Spirit flights are especially cheap. Public transportation from Baltimore to Koons takes about 2hrs 35min, but it only costs about $11. The savings was worth the extra time to me...
This build journal will progress steadily over the next few weeks. I bought most of my mods before taking delivery of my JT. But, I will need to balance "remote work", "family time", and this build ... or so I've been told. ;)
Living in MI, I couldn't get a deal that was close to the one I...
Do the mud flaps flex (more like rubber than plastic)? I'd like something that would bend/fold if they come down on a rock or log. The Mopar flaps are rigid plastic. They break off of the vehicle during moderate off-roading.
My JLU rode perfectly on a 2.5" Rough Country spacer lift & 33s. Two years later I finally got around to getting my recall work done 'just in case'. After they replaced my steering damper, I started getting death wobble. FCA & the dealership were good about correcting it free of charge by...
I plan on following that same factory harness on the frame. But, I'm thinking of only running a positive wire to connect to the Aux wire, then ground the negative somewhere in the rear. Is there a reason the negative wire would have to run up the negative terminal in the engine bay?
That's good news! ;)
I wonder if it is offsets the driver weight? Has anyone measured the height on both sides with no one in it, and again with a driver in it?
I just spoke with a neighbor who works in a SE MI auto plant. He said his shift tonight is his plant's last shift until the end of the month. They will reassess the situation at that time. Meanwhile, they are not leaving any partial builds on the line. They are completing builds that were...
The way I understand it, limiting social contact is all about reducing the death toll. The virus is likely to spread to about the same number of Americans either way. The difference is how many are affected at any one time.

Oh man! My ordered JT was finished being built in the middle of last week, but my dealer said it hadn't shipped yet.
Do you know if vehicles already built & just waiting to be shipped were being shipped before the shut down? On a related note, are the guys who transport built vehicles to the...
You may have found a solution to your awning question by now, but Brad from Trailrecon's video shows how an awning can be mounted relatively low, then raised to typical awning height.
