Oops, no disrespect meant, I keep forgetting that there are other Engineers besides Mechanical. :giggle:
I like rharr's suggestion. Being in NC, you should have a race car fab shop nearby, right?
The winch itself adds stiffness and strength to the winch plate and helps spread out the load. Just welding the curt receiver tube to the center of the winch plate with fillet welds may be fine for a straight-ahead pull, but I'd be worried about any off-center pulls. I would think that...
Well, it really depends on what you are doing with them. Being body mounted, they will flex, so you need to understand their limits. They will take some significant abuse, but if you play in the rocks you will eventually hit them hard enough for them to flex into the body. On my JK, I find...
The Falken Wildpeak A/T3W that came on my Mojave have a fairly aggressive look, but they are quiet and handle well on the road. A friend of mine has them on his Tacoma and he really likes them as well.
I'm fairly happy with them. I like full tire coverage out to the sidewall, so I wish they were about 1/2" wider to account for the different offset Mojave wheels.
I used the original long on my stock Mojave.
I had originally got the long versions with the intention of trimming the bottoms off to get rid of the RB logo. However, once I test-fit them, I liked the longer length and just turned the logos to face the tires.
I'm now the owner of 2 Bright White Jeeps, both with my name on the window sticker.
(it was really overcast, so the pictures came out bad, but you get the idea)
I thought the factory paint on the axle housings was horrible, so I did a little painting ...
... I got carried away and painted the rear control arms and the exposed areas of the frame in the rear as well ...
I just got finished installing Rokblokz mud flaps on my new Mojave. I knew exactly what they looked like before ordering, but once they were installed, I really didn't like the 'hole' left in the rear flaps.
So, I made filler pieces out of some mud flap material that I had left over from...
I run Nyracord rubber front flaps on my JKR because it is my off-road vehicle, and I was worried about the same thing. I made them from a set of semi-truck flaps I got from NAPA. They are mounted to the inner fenders, which are a lot less robust than on the JT. They are super flexible and do...
Mine aren't nearly as bad as the ones pictured in the thread below, but I'd still like to get them taken care of.

In case anyone needs the info, a buddy of mine at my local dealership helped me out.
You need to:
1) Remove filler cap & disconnect tether
2) Remove the rear inner splash shield
3) From inside wheelhouse, release 4 retaining clips - rear first, then the front
4) Carefully remove housing
5)...
I really can't help you with the details, but my 2014 JK Rubicon X came with the premium Alpine system. It sounded pretty good stock. I upgraded the sound bar speakers and sub (Infinity 6032si for sound bar with a Pioneer sub), and both of those resulted in much better sound quality.
Now, I...
I'm trying to figure out how to remove the "Fuel Filler Housing" on my Gladiator - it's Item #2 in the sketch below.
Has anyone removed this piece or does anyone have instructions from the FSM that they can share?
Background: I'm preparing to have the typical body distortion around the fuel...
I think the lack of the crossbeam will have a significant impact on the strength of this skid plate. The bent edges of the skid plate give it a lot of strength, but those edges stop right where the crossbeam is located. So, if the skid plate is hit, I think it will just bend at that location...
Stahlbus also makes a nice oil drain fitting:
