  1. Extended Warranty advice / recommendations?

Extended warranties are never bumper-to-bumper. This is a misnomer, or "lie" to sell you a warranty. The only bumper-to-bumper warranty is the one that came with the new car purchase, and even it may have limitations... Every contract has inclusions and exclusions. You need to have read the...
  2. Extended Warranty advice / recommendations?

You have a about 100,000 mile powertrain so if you're going to buy an extended warranty, just buy it on your technology which is the most expensive and the most messed up part of these Jeeps. I have an EcoDiesel and with the 100,000 mile warranty on powertrain I purchased a technology 60,000...
  3. Extended Warranty advice / recommendations?

I’m not exactly sure what you’re referring to… but…. The amount /rate an insurance company can charge for an extended warranty can be based on the age & mileage of the vehicle. If they’re charging you for 3 years coverage that’s already passed….that’s a bunch of BS. Don’t fall for that...
  4. Extended Warranty advice / recommendations?

In the past I have had a couple of OEM extended warranties, but this time I am trying Geico's MBI insurance. The main reason I am trying the MBI is because OEM dealers routinely decline warranty work and with the Geico MBI I am able to take my Jeep to independents of my choice. I currently pay...
  5. Extended Warranty advice / recommendations?

I may be mistaken but if you wait until just before end of std warranty, they still start from delivery date.
  6. Extended Warranty advice / recommendations?

5year Honda & Mercedes Service Advisor here. I call warranty companies daily. Most are garbage. The best I have worked with are: Zurich JMA/Fidelity Beyond that is a crap-shoot. Most warranties have more "exclusions" than "inclusions". Some warranties only cover listed part numbers. Some only...
  7. Extended Warranty advice / recommendations?

Ignore, Ignore, Ignore……Don’t take the bait. Relax….and do your homework. Personally, I could never buy an extended warranty while you’re still under the 3/36. Why pay them for something you won’t even use until after 3/36? Don’t do 3rd party warranties….stick with Mopar. Personally….I’ve...
  8. Extended Warranty advice / recommendations?

You'll get a lot of opinions on whether to get one or not, but it sounds like you've already decided. With that said, I'd only recommend getting the actual Jeep warranty. Other extended warranties are so full of traps and BS. Do a search here and you'll find some vendors offering discounted...
  9. Extended Warranty advice / recommendations?

So...I hate to open a can of worms but I'm 1 1/2 years into ownership of the Gladiator and I'm being bombarded with extended warranty offers. I would like to get one at some point but need advice on witch one to go for. I want as many years as possible and bumper to bumper coverage as I plan on...
  10. Power steering pump failed - left me stranded

Yes, I literally read that to the service manager. He said that they don’t list every single part that is covered, and the fuse block is not. We’re going to see about that bullshit. Less than 8k miles, with no electrical modifications. I can’t say strongly enough to stay away from Ferman CJDR
  11. Power steering pump failed - left me stranded

...The only things not covered are normal wear items like tires, wiper blades, etc) Heck the warranty even covers a windshield replacement for 2 years. Any extended warranty should also cover the electrical system. 2) Why would doing something the manual instructs you on doing void a warranty?
  12. Not a great list to be at the top of.............

To be honest, if it ain't a Series 3, or older, it ain't really a Landy...
  13. Not a great list to be at the top of.............

Now go wash your mouth out with a bar of soap for using the "L" word 🤭
  14. Not a great list to be at the top of.............

...horrible, I had to have it serviced almost every year, it just could never find the right gear, always bucking...just terrible. My extended warranty was up soon, so I got out. But I was looking for a new vehicle not long after I brought it home. And, I just didn't really want to be a "Land...
  15. New owner - First impressions

...a few years actually. Coming from a 2018 LR Discovery Sport. That vehicle was OK, had many issues with transmission, etc....the extended warranty was up in 3k miles, so I got out. My wife says I was looking for a new vehicle a few months after bringing that one home... it was a step up from...
  16. We are Suckers

Ian Johnson, from" Built for off road " swapped a 6.4 hemi and transmission in a JK from a running donor Ram pickup . Plug & play with all the wiring . Swapping in the JK he did have to redo the motor mounts etc. And redid the frame . But the wiring was slam bam.

    Same here.
  18. We are Suckers

My 2023 JT has 52 K on it's been to dealer for a rear view mirror a key replacement and 2 oil changes I am my extended warranty, truck will be paid off in about 2 years and I bought it knowing the engine and drive-train is all getting swapped eventually it really comes down to I like to do the...
  19. We are Suckers

There's a lot of new stuff that goes with it besides what you mentioned. You've already taken the depreciation hit on that Jeep - you get two of the most expensive parts most likely to be problematic installed, 0 miles on them, and warranties cost money. Getting 2 years - people who buy...
  20. In-dash advertisement opt-out

You've summed it up perfectly, esp. first paragraph. And frankly, I can't wait for it to be tested. Well said.
