So after 40k miles getting a little bouncier than I like.
There seems to have been a lot of people that were going with the Clayton 1.5 leveling kit and Icon 1.5 triple rate springs in the back. At least some early shock recommendations seem to be Bilstein 5100's.
I usually run at max payload...
Your weight concern is understandable but unfortunately I think everyone pretty much ignores it. Unloaded (no camping gear), with just myself, diamondback cover, Billie Bars rack, and awnings I weigh in at about 6000lbs. Only other mods are stubby bumper and winch.
The diamond back is pricey...
About 10 years ago scored some LED's for WAY under what they should have gone for. The venders has set up their system to price compare with other sites and automatically reduce their price accordingly without human verification. Ordered at midnight, it got in their shipping que before they...
Did Fins in a stock JTR, dragged a few times. I used a hitch skid since I also tow, not worried about the hitch, more the chain loops.
I still highly recommend Shafer if the weather permits. And Long canyon is a great photo op. Can get rough above the rock.

Hard to match the...
down from Moab, just the main overlooks on the north rim. That pic was down a forest service road somewhere on the east side, not sure if it had a name.
Got dark before we could get to sublime point so had to turn back.. :(
How large an awning? I have used a Thule gutter mount but only spanning the back of the top, not the removable panels. I have my 4' arb on one side and shower on the other. My large awning, 8', is on the back bed, not sure I would be comfortable with its weight and possible wind loading on the...
Diamond back, not too bad to take off and put back on. Load bearing. Have had some issue with leaks but I think its an issue with also having the Billiebars installed.
