I picked my XTerrain up yesterday afternoon. Awesome!!
  2. So any updates on your JT adventures ...

Great stuff gumidaka! I hope you enjoy every minute mate, it just won't do what I need it to do unfortunately, it was going to be my retirement tow vehicle, but not up to spec for what I need. Enjoy!
  3. So any updates on your JT adventures ...

And today I read that the Gladiator has a 3 star ANCAP rating........
  4. So any updates on your JT adventures ...

Too little too late I reckon. I was excited when it was coming, totally disappointed when it arrived. I bought a new Dmax XTerrain with all the goodies and saved 25K. And it'll carry a tonne and tow my caravan and it's diesel......
  5. Australia to be second largest Gladiator market

Mate they've killed it before it got off the ground..... too exxy, not enough load/tow capacity. Just think, if it was 60k, with 3500 kg tow (even 3000kg) the tradies would buy it, I'd buy it to tow my 2400kg van, much more attractive to the public. Fail on all fronts. Oh, and then the diesel...
  6. When will order banks open for Gladiator Diesel?

Re Oz JTs, Jeep Oz are kidding themselves if they think they can test the waters with the 3.6 and bring the diesel later. Aussies love diesels, and will move to another brand if it's not available. Unfortunately I've given up on the Gladiator now. It was going to be my retirement tow vehicle...
  7. Australia to be second largest Gladiator market

Maximum towing 2721kg is going to kill it, and less than 700kg load capacity?? Sorry Jeep, it was nice having you here, my CJ4, CJ7, XJ, TJ and v8 WG were awesome, but the Gladiator wont cut it......
  8. Meet the all-new Gladiator

Got this on email today, total fuck up 2721kg tow....... So much for "class leading".......
  9. Australia to be second largest Gladiator market

Is this proof enough? Total fuck up tow capacity max 2721kg as predicted.....
  10. Jeep Gladiator Details on web!

What a fuck up. Tow capacity 2721kg. Unfortunately it will fail in Oz, and I can't see jeep surviving in Oz with total sales last year of 6000 vehicles Australia wide.....
  11. Meet the all-new Gladiator

From what I've read tow is around 2700kg for the petrol. And this is why it won't compete with the dual cabs already out there with their 3500kg........
  12. Meet the all-new Gladiator

Any mention of tow capacity? Or diesel?
  13. Australia to be second largest Gladiator market

Yep, missed the market by a long way, unfortunately.
  14. Australia to be second largest Gladiator market

Looks like too expensive, and won't compete with the twin cabs without a diesel and less than 3 tonne tow...... I think we're seeing the demise of Jeep in Oz. Don't get me wrong, I love the brand, I've had 6 jeeps all up. But they only sold 6000 australia wide in 2019. Not in any way...
  15. Do we know when the Ecodiesel will be released?

Yes diesels here run particulate filters, some AdBlue too, like my wife's Mazda CX7. My Isuzu Dmax runs a DPF but instead of a sensor telling the computer it's time for a burn, the Isuzu does it every 500km regardless, hopefully bypassing a lot of the potential problems. Toyota have a massive...
  16. Do we know when the Ecodiesel will be released?

Diesels are number 1 here in Oz, top selling vehicles overall are hilux and ranger in diesel dual cab. Diesel is often up to 30 cents a litre cheaper than unleaded, and obviously a lot of aussies tow caravans and prefer the diesel for that. Some manufacturers don't even offer a petrol version...
  17. Australia to be second largest Gladiator market

Well, if the tow capacity tops out at 2721kg, it's going to be a flop. There is no way they will sell enough of these to compete with all the current twin cabs and their 3500kg capacity. Especially if it's starting from 70 grand. I was looking forward to buying a JT as my retirement tow car, but...
  18. Do we know when the Ecodiesel will be released?

No, neither can i, and the last thing Jeep Oz need are structural problems with people towing at capacity....... While I was excited to buy a Gladiator as my retirement tow vehicle in 2 years, it's looking more and more like the Landcruiser v8 diesel will get my money. Can't afford reliability...
  19. Do we know when the Ecodiesel will be released?

The limited information that we've had from Jeep Oz has been that the Gladiator will be a class leader in carrying and tow capacity. If it can't tow 3500kg, they may as well not bother going to the expense of building it in RHD. It'll flop here.
  20. Do we know when the Ecodiesel will be released?

Hmmmm I read an article last week that Australia may miss out on the diesel, due to the drop in carrying/tow capacity for the diesel. Now in Australia, the biggest selling vehicles are dual cab diesel utes with a towing capacity of 3500kg. I have one myself (and have for the past 15 years). IF...
