  1. Fire Extinguisher mounting

Another vote for element. I used short tap screws to mount directly into the hard top insulation - has been secure through multiple off-road adventures.
  2. Aux Battery Charging?

@Pepe "stoop" and "hack", hmmm - judgmental much? I understand those who wouldn't want to do it, but I wouldn't judge them one way or the other. My service advisor said it was fine - every service since the first he also made sure the tech didn't reconnect it on each service.
  3. Aux Battery Charging?

I was a little surprised how quickly my batteries went bad. Not sure if it could be related but will share my story. I had to have both my batteries (main and aux/ESS) @ 33k miles and just 15 months! This was days before a 7 day trip to Canyonlands (down the Flint to the Maze Overlook /...
  4. Forum Sale - This Weekend Only - Rebel Off Road Products

Missed out on this, do you guys have anything special going for President’s Day?
  5. Solved)Scrape sound over bumps or dips in road..help!

@fun2drum thanks for your description. That is spot on to what I hear. I just passed 36k and dealer couldn’t find anything right before getting out of warranty (of course). I did replace my front sway bar links. Had an issue in the Maze in Canyonlands with a rattle and when I inspected, one...
  6. Mounting up a RotoPax

Here was my solution. I had a local fabricator water jet me out 4 of these mounting plates out of 1/4" aluminum. I should have had them powder coated but you can't see them as the RotoPax cover them up. It cost me about $15 apiece. Just mount the RotoPax mounts directly to the plate and I...
  7. Anybody running a Rebel Offroad Rack with Yakima Rooftop Tent?

Hi, I currently have a Yakima RTT (3-person) with the Yakima OverhaulHD rack. I am looking for a lower profile rack and the Rebel half seems to fit the bill (plus I am liking the accessory options, especially the fridge mount). Anybody running the Rebel with a Yakima? I'd like to get a shot...
  8. Elephant Hill in the Needles District of Canyonlands, Utah

@toutenhoofd so you think Teapot Canyon was tougher than Elephant Hill? I did Teapot last year in my stock Rubicon Gladiator and it was fine. couple of scrapes on the hitch, 1 on the rear fender, nothing major or visible unless you look underneath. We went down Flint then down Teapot Canyon...
  9. Snorkels

Looks great @Dorbritz! Did you paint to match yourself? If so, how difficult was it? I had actually wondered if it might be easier to paint the opposite cowl cover black. I am more concerned about symmetry than the actual color :). Any concerns about water getting in with the low profile...
  10. Elephant Hill in the Needles District of Canyonlands, Utah

Bump. Did you try it @toutenhoofd ? I have been wanting to try this also. I did the Maze / Flint Trail out as far as the Wall last year in the Gladiator with stock 33s and it was fine (few scrapes underneath). Elephant Hill looks tougher though.
  11. Heater/AC blowing hot air at 60 or higher

Thanks for this thread. I have the same issue. I live in Arizona so 80% of the time I just have the air on LO and adjust the fan speed and A/C off or on. The only time I use another temp setting is when my wife is in the car and it is winter and she doesn’t like the cold air. I thought it...
  12. JT instead of a 4Runner

I have both. I went from a 2016 Trail 4Runner to the JT Rubi. I still have the 4Runner and am about to sell it (just hit 50k miles). They are both great vehicles. I love the Gladiator. It is more fun to drive, I’ve got a rack and a roof top tent so it is better for overlanding, though I...
  13. Hill Descent Control?

I had a similar experience. Wasn’t a grinding noise but a continuous clicking sound from the auto application of the brakes. Note that I had never been off roading before and I was going down the Flint trail into the Maze in Canyonlands. I was already a little freaked out so I probably...
  14. Recall and Stop Sale on Certain 2020 Gladiators For Bad Driveshafts

Ok, this is confusing. I see folks posting here saying they took it in, getting replaced, ordering, etc. My dealership says I am 2nd on their list but gives no indication of having ordered anything. Just that they will call me when they are ready for me to come in. Seems pretty lackadaisical...
  15. Anyone found Yakima bars/mounts that fit into the Gladiator Trail Rail system?

I was annoyed by the Yakima trail rail kit having a long bar that basically rendered all of the space in between the adapters unusable. So I found some T slot nuts on Amazon to use instead. Unfortunately, they were M8 threads while the screws in the Yakima kit were M10. A <$10 M10 tapping bit...
  16. Yakima Outpost HD w/ Skyrise 3 Roof Top Tent

I like the Overhaul HD rack and want to use it with the trail rail system. However, I don't understand why they chose to use a 15" long steel bar instead of T-slot nuts. By doing so, it prevents you practically from mounting anything else to the trail rail system. Has anyone used one of these...
  17. Help V95 Driveshaft monoblock recall concern FCA US no help so far

My Jeep is on the list. I also called the dealer and they don't have the parts - I guess I am #2 on their list when they do get parts. I have 8k miles so far, including a 10-hour round trip from PHX to San Diego in August (hot!) and another trip that was ~16 hours round trip from PHX to the...
  18. Recall and Stop Sale on Certain 2020 Gladiators For Bad Driveshafts

Hmmm...mine is on the list. Now the dilemma: I have a permit for a 5 day off-road down the Flint trail in the Canyonlands Maze district. Headed out to the dollhouses and then southwest out Poison Springs canyon road. The truck seems fine but if I breakdown on that stretch it will be a couple...
  19. Flimsy Front Inner Fenders

Just discovered this myself. Passenger side, Rubicon 33’s no mods. I just finished an 800 mile road trip the Sierras and back from Phoenix. Guessing it happened on the way or back (temps were 100+ and at 70-75 mph sustained, can only imagine the beating those paper thin liners can take)...
