  3. Winch lines, the rain, and drying them out...

I'm on my second Badlands with synthetic line. I moved my older one to my trailer and bought a new one. Both have synthetic lines. I've had my older one for about eight years and it's had synthetic line for about five. Having said that, I've not once pulled them out when they get wet to let...
  4. Is this pitman arm slop normal?

I have a video about this issue that I posted on my youtube channel almost three years ago. I've also posted it on these forums quite a few times as well. I also mention checking the four steering box bolts for proper torque as well.
  5. My Expensive Lesson. Loose Steering Issue Resolved

Good deal! And also, make sure you check the four steering box bolts for proper torque. Here's some crazy info for you about that. I had the aluminum gearbox. Didn't need, but wanted the steel, so I had Jeep exchange it. So, they're the ones that touched that pitman arm before that issue. I...
  6. My Expensive Lesson. Loose Steering Issue Resolved

Here's the video with the pitman arm nut: And in addition to the pitman arm nut, the four steering box bolts too. The pitman arm nut is supposed to be 185 ft/lbs. Tight enough isn't good enough.
  7. Phone mount options, what is a solid MagSafe mount option?

I have a dash bar in both our JT and JK. I've had them for almost 4yrs with no issues. They bolt to the jeep (Not screw), which gives them a solid mounting point. You can use any mount that will clamp or bolt to the bar. I use Ram Mounts. At one point, I had a Cell, passenger cell, Tablet, and...

Maxi Trac 12v air compressor. Dual piston. 12v disconnect, Pressure switch, and quick coupler has been added. $100
  9. Auxilary disabled

Tazer isn't the only option. If you're going to utilize Tazer for other options, yes. But, if you just want to stop the auto start/stop, just get an eliminator from amazon for $30-$40.
  10. Door Hinge Pin Crossthread Issue

You don't need em. Toss em. They have nothing to do with the function of the door. I haven't seen my door pin bolts in over 4yrs.
  11. New auxiliary switch bank

Yea. I installed my Lasfit switches back in March 23 when I added lockers and I'm satisfied with them.
  12. Buyers remorse but trim not Jeep.

The only difference in building as opposed to getting something that's factory is if you want factory or aftermarket options. I have a 2019 (2020) Overland. I now have 169,000 miles on it. I also have had it regeared and added lockers. I beat the crap out of it towing, hauling, offroading, and...
  13. Hotsprings Off-Road Park

Yea. I know the feeling. I retired and because my wife was still in and I got tired of sitting home, I got a civilian job. Now we're both retired, but I continued working part-time for my company. But, I pretty much do what I want though. But yes. Keep me posted. Stay safe!
  14. Hotsprings Off-Road Park

Even though I've been there a few times, keep in touch. Depending on what I have going on at the time, I might trail behind you and make another trip out there with ya.
  15. Bilstein 5100s

I went from Fox to the Bilstein 5100s. Like everyone else has mentioned, they are stiff. But for me, the positives outweigh the negative. The negative is that they ride rougher. But I offroad and rock crawl, so they don't bottom out on the trails. I also tow a lot, so they handle the load better...
  16. Leaving Door Bolts Off?

I haven't seen my door bolts in over 4yrs.
  17. No ebrake *FIXED*

The only way is to pull the center console and check the cable. The bolts are 10mm. If you have to adjust the cable or do something to it, it's either a 10mm deep socket or wrench.
  18. How good is Jscan!?

I've used Jscan for four years. It does everything you'll need it to do. You don't have to "marry" it to any vehicle. And I have the OBD adapter, SGW cables, and the licenses for five Mopar vehicles and still came out cheaper than the other brand.
  19. Need some opinions from the Yokohama M/T and Geolander tire users out there. I gotta decide!

Thanks for the info. I appreciate it. BTW, nice jeep. Looks good!
  20. Need some opinions from the Yokohama M/T and Geolander tire users out there. I gotta decide!

About 3.5yrs ago I had 35x12.50R17 Geolander X-ATs installed. Rode on them for 20,000 miles then upgraded to 37x13.50 X-ATs. I got 62,000 miles out of those. They really shouldn’t have lasted that long, but they did. I loved how quiet they were, how good they rode on the rode, and how well they...
