  1. Did something Crazy last Friday

Thanks! I do plan on doing some camping with it and will be taking it off road some too. Nothing crazy, mostly just Forest Service roads, and fairly easy trails to access fishing and camping spots. that's about all I did with the Gladiator too, with a couple of notable exceptions. Break over...

They're definitely spacious. I was actually considering the 5.0 as I knew it was a proven platform with good performance, not to mention it's a little cheaper than the 3.5 or Powerboost.
  3. Did something Crazy last Friday

Lol. I get that. I've actually owned several Fords, but don't really have much brand loyalty anymore. These days I'm open to buying from almost any auto manufacturer that makes something I like. I owned a '17 Charger 392 that I loved, so the Jeep was only my 2nd FCA product, But I've owned...
  4. Did something Crazy last Friday

That's right, it does have the "Power on Board" generator. Haven't tried that yet, but it'll come in handy if there's a power outage or just for camping.
  5. Did something Crazy last Friday

Thanks! I've put only about 300 miles on it so far, but it seems to do pretty well. On back roads and city drives, 23 mpg is pretty easy to achieve. Haven't done much highway yet. Rating is 24/24/24. But the biggest thing I like so far is the power and the extra space. Amazing something so...

Pic of the new truck and one of the Jeep after I turned over the keys
  7. Did something Crazy last Friday

Traded my Gladiator!! It was a tough decision as I still liked the Jeep a lot and we made some good family memories in it during the short (almost) 2 years we've owned it. Had a lot of personality, would go anywhere, and I never had any problems with it. It was our trusty and scrappy...
  8. Rear Window (Hardtop) Mod ??

I've always wished it was powered. Can't reach back there to open or close it when driving. Even though the top is removable, it could have been motorized. The doors come off and they have power windows.
  9. Everybody is different...

Just looks like a truck for the right hand drive market (UK, Australia, Japan, etc). Many of those places don't allow the gap up front, so that gets closed off.
  10. Anyone move from a fullsize pickup to a Gladiator and regret it?

Consolidated from a 392 Charger and a troublesome, used F150 to the Gladiator. I have a ton of fun with the Gladiator, but now that I've started to tow I'm really starting to miss the full size Truck. Once we have the Jeep loaded up for camping with 3 people, two dogs, and gear, its a tight...
  11. Rear End Issues

I'm a complete newbie to towing, but just purchased a pop up camper relatively recently. Our pop up is only about 1600pds dry with a max gross of 2500. Pretty light and well under the rated 6000 tow rating of my Overland. With the trailer hitched up, bed full of camping gear, cab full with...
  12. Sport automatic with max tow 0-60?

Definitely get that no one buys a gladiator for speed, but I would imagine the OP was just curious. Having traded my 392 Charger in on my gladiator, I do feel like I'm barely moving with 200 less hp. I know some are fortunate enough to have both a muscle/sports car and a gladiator, but there's...
  13. Bluetooth Speaker Storage?

Is it just that the car seats prevent you from accessing the BT speaker? In any case, I think it should be fine in it's dock behind the seats. In almost 2 years, I've used my BT speaker only 3-4 times, so it's on the cradle for many months at a time with no ill effect.
  14. Towing medium sized pop up camper with Tow packaged Overland

I was thinking the same thing. I'm betting we won't be getting out every weekend, but might manage 4-6 times a year.
  15. Towing medium sized pop up camper with Tow packaged Overland

Hey thanks for all the good information guys. Very helpful for a newb! I went and picked up the trailer yesterday. It was a 50 mile trip, one way, through the foothills so I had a lot of road time with the set up on the way home. The main challenge was the weather, as it rained the entire...
  16. Towing medium sized pop up camper with Tow packaged Overland

Thanks. I bought a 2" drop with a 3/4" rise on the other side. Thinking that should do the trick. Did your uhaul have electric brakes at all? Anyone else towing a pop up or something similar?
  17. Towing medium sized pop up camper with Tow packaged Overland

So, I'm completely inexperienced with towing and just bought a 2005 Fleetwood Sea pine pop up camper. Dry weight around 1700 pds, 2500 pds gross. Don't expect it to be very difficult for the gladiator to pull, but I have alot of questions on the brake system and set up needed. I've seen lot's...
  18. Places in Georgia To go on the trails

I like Tray mountain just outside Helen. Most parts are really just enough to be fun and not so bad that you risk damage or getting stuck (although there are tougher areas you can try if you want). I posted a pic of a mudpuddle crossing up there that seemed to freak some folks out...
  19. Pandemic pastimes?

Did that too! Like the micro crawlers since they're small enough for indoors and can be used outdoors as well. Have the SCX24, and two panda hobby models (k1 and the bronco ish one). Have also been brewing more and did about 4-5 beer batches in the last year along with an experiment with...
  20. Cleats?

I know the type cleats you're thinking of and remember some older ford f150's coming with them back in the 70's and 80's. On the old full size trucks they typically mounted in the side slat holes on the top edge of the bedwalls. Haven't seen anything like that for the gladiator and I'm not...
