I've always wished it was powered. Can't reach back there to open or close it when driving. Even though the top is removable, it could have been motorized. The doors come off and they have power windows.

Just looks like a truck for the right hand drive market (UK, Australia, Japan, etc). Many of those places don't allow the gap up front, so that gets closed off.

Is it just that the car seats prevent you from accessing the BT speaker? In any case, I think it should be fine in it's dock behind the seats. In almost 2 years, I've used my BT speaker only 3-4 times, so it's on the cradle for many months at a time with no ill effect.
