1st post. Please excuse if this is not in the right forum. I drove my Black 2021 Overland off the lot about 4 weeks ago. So far I've resisted the urge to modify it, but it's difficult. I'm brand new to the Jeep world. In the late 90s I moved back to Canada after living in Sweden for a few years, and I saw that some company was FINALLY building the right truck for me - the Ford Explorer Sport Trac - this style was all the rage in Europe (seating for 4 or 5 and a short box), and it was finally making it's way over here. So I bought one. One of the best features was the cleats that were on the outside of the bed. So naturally I've been looking for something similar for my Gladiator. I was hoping there'd be some system that would provide rails for a "stealth" tonneau, and then mount over the box to provide a set of 2 or 3 cleats per side. Kind of like the Diamondback tonneau, but the cleats would still be available if the tonneau needed to be removed. I've been searching, but I haven't seen anything. Am I missing? cheers,

I know the type cleats you're thinking of and remember some older ford f150's coming with them back in the 70's and 80's. On the old full size trucks they typically mounted in the side slat holes on the top edge of the bedwalls. Haven't seen anything like that for the gladiator and I'm not sure where they would mount. Would be handy tho.

Take a look at the trail rail system that jeep offers. The tie downs (cleats) run inside the bed rail. The truck box fenders are probably too thin to do a sport trac style cleat.
