I've sold my Gladiator.
Red A.R.E. topper is for sale. $1500
I have Bestop Full 2 Piece Fabric Front Doors. $500.
I also have the original tires also (about 5000 miles on them). $150
The topper has sliding side windows with screens.
The front window is fixed.
It has a Yakima roof rack.
Clamps...
Yes, I believe this topper would fit just fine. I really wanted a painted fiberglass topper though. I like the looks of it. Plus, the A.R.E. I ordered was about $1700 if memory serves me right. I'm pretty sure the RSI ones are a bit more expensive.
I'll try to remember to grab some pics of how I...
JaxMax is right. The front of the topper has a contour that leans forward. You have to either slide the topper back or lift it up if you want it to match up to the soft top. The problem with sliding it back is that it'll overhang the tailgate by a few inches.
Lifting it up isn't so bad because I...
Correct. The only fiberglass toppers available right now (that I know of) were designed for hardtop Gladiators. The soft top sits 2-3 inches higher than the hard top.
Your two choices with the A.R.E. topper are either raise it up or modify the front of it to match the contours of the soft top...
I propped it up with PVC boards. I cut them to match the shape of the bed rails. I used three and a half of them (I used a planer on one board to get the height of the lift right) on each side.
I put a 4 bolts down through the shell, boards, and truck to fasten it down.
Then I covered the...
It’s worth about 50 bucks.
I'm gunna do you a solid though and take it off your hands for a cool hundred.
BTW I have a really nice plastic one for sale for $100 too. If you wanna swap straight across, hit me up.
P.S. You cool drive to Arkansas for the swap?
Amen! One and a half years later and it’s still a dream!
A convertible truck. No Doors for half the year. Plus I have a truck with a manual. It’s perfect and still puts a smile on my face!
I find it hilarious when some girly-man “journalist” on an auto blog ranks it last in half sized pickups...
I added 35s and mopar lift. It did loose some pep. I was disappointed at first but I got used to the loss in take off power after a couple of months.
The loss of take off power was made up for in “looking good”.
I don’t off-road so it was purely for looks.
Re-gear was quoted at $2200.
Now...
Love the manual.
Doors off. Top down. Shifting gears.
Nothing quite like it.
I’m about to start teaching my 14 year old son how to drive a stick this year.
He might even be able to buy a manual transmission vehicle 10 years from now. I wouldn’t want any of my kids to miss out on that experience.
Haha. I’m from small town Arkansas too. Most people get waved to until I get to the busy Main street.
It was different when I lived near the Missouri border though. I don’t wave at them and I’ll be damned before I recognize Missouri as part of the union.
Thank you for the info. I'll definitely look into the Gator. I think I would prefer a trifold if I were to go with a soft cover again. I think it'd definitely be quicker and easier to flip back and forth.
I'm having a hard time deciding what to replace my crappy one with though.
The main...
I bought the roll up tyger for a Colorado before any aftermarket options were really available. It sucks because the clamps don’t grab the sides of the bed right. That makes the rails push outward which causes the top to not latch properly half the time.
If the clamps were Gladiator specific...
