  1. Clutch Recall... Wait... no recall????

From what I understand they are going to “measure / calculate“ how much engine torque is being made and figure when the clutch would be at a slip point and do a power cut when they figure it”s there and going to slip and overheat They have had a engine torque value in their engine software for...
  2. Pic request: 2” lift and 35” Duratracs

Falken Wildpeaks 315/70/17’s which measure 35-12.5”. 3/4” rear spacer and 2 1/2” in front to make up for the factory rake and the drop from the front bumper and winch weight.
  3. Is it me, or does the Jeep windshield soak up way more bugs?

I think it picks up it’s share of bugs, but they all have. It’s the glass angle and poor aerodynamics. Around here it just seems like a buggier year this year so it’s hard to judge. Last summer wasn’t too bad.
  4. 315/70/17 vs 35x12.50x17

I read and read and read about all the options, loads etc . Decided on Falken Wildpeaks 315/70R/17” all terrain not mud terrains. It is the exact tire as the 35/12.5” 1/8” shorter and 1/4” wider than 35’s. Same loads and everything and $75 a tire cheaper when I got mine plus free delivery and...
  5. Clutch Recall (FCA W12 | 20V-124) For Gladiator Manual Transmiss [overheating clutch pressure plate]

Yes, basically the identical engine except for a few new enhancements. My truck has the Gen 2 engine in it that came out for the 2020 launch. I believe it is mostly emissions related. There wasn’t a fix for the jerking on my JK and the dealer constantly said it was normal. The same as my JT...
  6. Clutch Recall (FCA W12 | 20V-124) For Gladiator Manual Transmiss [overheating clutch pressure plate]

My last 3 were manuals. 2 JK’s and a CJ. Yes, I think what I am feeling when it bumps in 3rd is the variable cam timing doing it’s thing. My JKU was a 3.6L and it bumped and jerked the same. Mine, when you are accelerating up the street pulling out of the driveway on a cold start has jerking as...
  7. Clutch Recall (FCA W12 | 20V-124) For Gladiator Manual Transmiss [overheating clutch pressure plate]

YES!!! How the heck do you describe it without the service writer looking at you like a retard??? “ It feel like the throttle is being blipped, i blamed myself for the first 1000miles, but i am convinced that the truck is doing it on its own. its slight but its there. and its always 3rd when i...
  8. Found some neat engineering on our Jeep Gladiator Trucks!

The video was ok. If you were already a Jeep person you would already know about 9/10 of this stuff as it has been on the JK’s since their inception except for stop/start. The manual explains all that including the 2 batteries. But, hey the guy tried to inform the people that just impulsively...
  9. Rubicon Manual Towing Capacity

I know I would have a lot more confidence in mine if I had a clutch comparable to the Center Force. I personally wouldn’t want to haul anything over 3500-4000 lbs.. with mine. Especially with the tall tires. Just from an engine perspective let alone suspension. I feel the torque curve and where...
  10. Rubicon Manual Towing Capacity

Anyone who is contemplating bigger tires after they get their truck better go with 4:10’s . 33’s and 4:10’s shouldn’t have any problems. I have 35’s on a manual with 3:73’s and it’s dead in SW Pa. Theres lots of hills around here. I lost 6th gear about completely and if you can use 5th it dies...
  11. Clutch Recall (FCA W12 | 20V-124) For Gladiator Manual Transmiss [overheating clutch pressure plate]

What problem I had with my JK that I traded for my JT was it wanting to slip the clutch backing up even a slight hill. And drastically worse if I was moving my trailer (1700# pop-up) backing up to park it etc. The hill assist which basically holds the brakes on so you don’t roll backwards on a...
  12. Clock not keeping time

My Sport S has the basic radio and it still looses 3-4 minutes a week. A couple weeks ago, backing out of the garage and the crappy back up camera was on (in the dark) I shifted into 1st and started down the driveway. The “ Accept, splash screen warning came on, and then a LOUD pop through the...
  13. Clutch Recall (FCA W12 | 20V-124) For Gladiator Manual Transmiss [overheating clutch pressure plate]

Looks like all JT’ 6 speeds built through 2/20/2020 are involved. Guess we have to wait till 4/22 for our surprise. I felt that clutch sucked from day 1. Dealer says it’s “normal”. B.S.— It’s weak and has no clamping power! I guess the focus group says we all want weak, mushy clutches! “ It’s...
  14. Clock not keeping time

I had my left knee replaced last month and couldn’t stroke the clutch. Traded rides with my wife. Got back in to drive the truck and it 10 minutes off. Was out of it for 3 weeks and wasn’t resetting it. Dealer still says there’s nothing they can do. Bull.... there’s nothing they want to do!
  15. Is this how the brights are supposed to work?

I can’t speak for Rubicons or the others but on my plain Jane, Sport S they work fine. Just as you might imagine. There is better illumination in close with the fogs on. But that’s normal. They work just like my last 3 have. Just normal halogens.
  16. Is this how the brights are supposed to work?

Time to talk to your dealer! If it doesn’t work and the light switch is in the manual on, or even auto and the headlights are initiated . You have a problem. Either the multifunction switch or what ever module controls the lighting output. Maybe even the always popular “software update”.

  19. Indiana Gladiator Stock Suspensions Two Complete

The springs strength and the height of the 33’s make the difference. Stock Rubicon sway bar links, lower control arms shock length and spring length are exactly the same on a Sport S. Actually all the same part numbers on the links and lower control arms. The 2-1/2” Mopar lift has longer sway...
