I found that Bosch and Hella made/makes a 5 pole relay with the diode on the coil. Iād like to find where I can buy that so I can just swap out the one on the harness. Then I will hook to the headlights.
Where are folks tying in the running lights for ignition power? I have a BCDC coming and I...
With that remote switch setup, that would work great. i could tell you how/where to cut off the switch from the harness. things i'm trying to work out is how to activate the spots with my highs. for now i have everything tapped into aux switches since i'm not using them. eventually i'd like...
So far just wired up to aux switches, but they are excellent. The biggest wow for me was the side firing. When I turn them on, just the lows, its like I'm in this well lit room. The spots just add to the distance the cover. I'm very impressed
2020 JTRLE, 69.8k miles. Only mods I would say I have are the RSI Smartcap and a winch. Truck is usually empty. within the last month or so, my mileage has gone down by about 2mpg, from like 18-19 (more often around 19) to 16-17 (trying to keep it closer to 17). The Smartcap was added around...
The relay that comes with the HF kit is an HKE CMA31-A. Their data sheet seems to indicate they have a CMA31-A-D which has the diode integrated, but Iām having a hard time finding that model.
One nice thing about the HF Relay harness was that it was pretty easy to remove the switch. They also made the power wire so you could swap it on the relay in order to make the lows constant on.
From the schematic of the relay, pin 85 shouldn't draw full current since its not connected to the light itself. pin 30 is where the battery connection needs to come from (or AUX1) and that goes to 87a when "off" and 87 when "on" (85 trigger)
so my understanding from this wiring diagram is that these newer headlights are fed with a 12v from the main relay (higher power) and the lights themselves are triggered via the high/low beam wire (white/gray and white/beige). i was planning on tapping the high beam to trigger the relay's high...
Their app doesn't show them yet, but the website does if you go directly to it:
6 LED
4 LED Spot/Flood Combo - these look really cool, almost go them instead but liked the hi/low feature
4 LED Spot
Harness with 5 Pole relay
they did have to get them from the back, they weren't on display yet...
Hooked up to the harness just to test. Holy hell these are bright. My goal is to wire them into one of the aux switches and then have the high/low activated with my headlights. Does anyone know the best tie in point for those? Drl, low, high?
Pretty stoked to be able to snag these today. Iām going to get them wired up this weekend. They have hi, low beams and a running light. Harness is really nice, but Iām going to cut out the switch. Comes with a 5 pole relay and a tap for the running light.
