Yeah...I love the performance, but there's obviously a paint issue they're not addressing. Have you reached out to them at all? They blew me off big time and basically said "too bad". Like you said, at least the shocks work, haha.
I did purchase through a vendor - could be worth trying to see what they can do. I have a feeling they will probably say to take it up with AEV, but I guess you never know 🤷♂️
Yikes! That's pretty terrible.
And yes, as I mentioned, I know this is just an aesthetic issue. My problem is, AEV specifically states that their products (including shocks) have a one year warranty on paint, powder, and dip finishes. The fact that they're trying to dismiss this as a "rock...
I wanted to see if anyone else has had a negative experience with AEV products or customer service? I recently purchased the Dualsport XP lift with heavy duty springs, and shortly after installation I noticed paint flaking off of both of the rear shock reservoirs.
I reached out to AEV and...
Actually, I see that the one Amazon has listed as being for the non-Rubicon Wrangler is actually the part number for the JTR - they should fix that product listing!
You must have access to a different Amazon than I do - don't see any listed for the 5.13 ratio and Dana 44 axels.
Regardless though, I've got my gears ordered and an install date next week - I'm stoked!
The ring and pinion for 5.13 seems to be in stock, but the master install kit and a few other parts are not in stock and their website estimates 32-34 weeks until they're available.
I just talked to the shop and went with Nitro gears - I've seen good things about them and they're in stock and...
Haven't decided yet - the shop I'm working with has a good reputation and said that they use G2 gears (but will use any brand with a warranty/guarantee). From what I gather, many of the brands are made at the same place, South Korea. I had been interested in Yukons, but learned that they are...
Yeah, both seem like decent choices! I've got a Rubicon with 37s and will be buying a truck bed camper that weighs around 400lbs - plus I live in Colorado at around 6,000ft above sea level and often drive up higher into the mountains, so I think the 5.13s will be the best choice for me.
Cool - was just curious as I'm going to be regearing to 5.13 next week...would love to use Dana/Spicer gears, but absolutely not willing to wait over 6 months. Hope you're able to get the 4.88s!
Dana gears (5.13) appear to be 30+ weeks out from shipping for several of the parts packages according to their website - did the shop you're talking to give you an ETA on getting the parts??
