Check out America's Most Wanted 4x4. Their conversion kits keep all the bells and whistles working on the Jeeps. I'm sure they can help with the ECU if you source your own motor and trans.
Congrats and welcome to the best/worst mistake of your life! LOL. YouTube is your fried for mods and upgrades. Here are some channels to check out; Dirt Road Cred; [Banned Site]; TrailRecon; Quadratec; plus many more. Enjoy the journey!!
This is definitely a color you need to see in person. It almost matches my motorcycle. The Jeep has more green and the bike has more silver in the flake. Its a very deep color and I think it look amazing on the Gladiator.
Just installed the twill Sunrider from Bestop. Other than the Z-clips being a pain to install, this was super easy. An unexpected benefit is all the extra headroom too. Not that I needed it, I'm 5'9". But for anyone looking for a bit more this should get you about 2 inches. Thankfully no leaks...
Well kind of a discount. Northridge has a $100 gift card with purchase for the 4th of July. Haven't seen any discounts for the Sunrider in a while, so I pulled the out the old CC and ordered one up in twill. After tax is added its only about $70 in savings, but I will take what I can get. Happy...
LoD Signature Stubby, Warn Evo 12S, Rough Country 6" lights, stock fogs from plastic JTR bumper and stock Rubicon skid plates fit without mods. I had to make a plate to mount the RC lights. They were too long to mount on the tabs on the bull bar. I like the dual light look better than a single...
Thanks ARB for giving Jeep dealers another way to jack up prices on Sport model Jeeps. I'll stick with my LoD Stubby, Warn Winch and RC Lights = under $1500.
Agree 100%. Jeep got it right this time. Traded my first JK in for a Chevy, that lasted a year. Bought another JK and drove it for 6 years. Traded it for a GMC, that lasted 6 months. Picked up the JTR about 6 months ago and couldn't be happier. A mid-sized truck that's a Jeep!! Yes, life is good...
LoD Stubby will accept stock fog lights, unfortunately not the tow hooks. But, you can use the stock Rubicon skid plate with it. So that was worth giving up the tow hooks. And I can just get some red shackles.
Can always ask the dealer if its possible to get a "body in white" JT. Some of the other manufacturers have programs like that so you can get just the body, completely stripped. No wiring, no suspension, nothing. I know Ford did it with the Mustang in recent years.
Finally bolted up my new bumper and winch. Really happy with the way it looks. The winch sits really low and barely blocks any of the grill. Its a tight fit between the grill and the back of the winch, but I think I can move the wires around to add some clearance.
Install was pretty straight...
