Can always ask the dealer if its possible to get a "body in white" JT. Some of the other manufacturers have programs like that so you can get just the body, completely stripped. No wiring, no suspension, nothing. I know Ford did it with the Mustang in recent years.

Ever notice that the companies that rebuild essentially better than new Scramblers always title with a CJ7 instead of a CJ8? The standards are not always based on age, but year. And the CJ8 is not and will never be “old” enough. You had to get before 74 I think it was. Now lots of states don’t do testing, so many get away with it, but that’s why older titles on otherwise rust buckets will be worth more than newer ones that may drive. Discovered a bunch of this when I bought my CJ8 a number of years back. There were some obviously co
mmon shenanigans going on, but I couldn’t figure out why for some time.
