My Sport with manual windows did the same thing. I fixed it by taking the handle off and reinstalling so the weight of the handle is pushing down closing rather than opening. Totally fixed it.

Added a rubber mat to mine and love the combo!!! Holds items better and saves your spray in liners.

The bracket is under the dash but at the side of your left foot. Not above your knees. Is this where your photo was taken?
