I got a quote to repair it for $550. Otherwise new tailgate shell + top plastic spoiler will cost around a little over $400 just for the parts (requires paint + I'd have to get the inside Linex'd). I'm guessing over $1k if I went with the second option. Here in So Cal labor isn't cheap...
Isn't the max tongue weight on an Overland just 400 lbs? Not sure if the WDH will help get around this. I find the trailer tongue weights are as important as overall weight. Also, a tent trailer tows way easier than a regular trailer. I've towed a few different trailers with my JT and I can...
Sukemichi Jeep JL Hood Latch. Trust me on this one. I bought the Rampage and didn't like the big a** Rampage lettering. It also has a weird shiny metallic finish. The Sukemichi sounds like cheap junk, but it looks stock. Only $49.99 when it's in stock at Amazon and a 10 min install.
Also went with Line X Premium. Scuffed it up the same day hauling something or the other. Added a DeeZee custom fit heavy weight rubber bedmat. Works beautifully and I'm not worried about denting the bed. Line X can still dent.
Been there done that. Went from stock Sport S tires to 33s (Falken Wildpeak MTs in 1st pic) to 35s (Mickey Thompson ATZ P3 in 2nd pic). I also have a 2.5 inch Metal Cloak leveling kit, Rubicon Fox shocks all around, and Rubicon springs in the back. IMHO Gladiator looks and rides much better with...
How did you manage to do this with the soft opening tailgate? I thought I did the same thing as I tow a utility trailer, but there's no way I would have missed something damage like that. Maybe I'm the one who is crazy.
UPDATE: I am an idiot and apologize for slandering all the innocent car burglars out there. Thanks to TYJ for helping me figure out the damage was caused by my trailer jack and not a would be thief.
First timer here. Hoping that I can help fellow JT owners avoid what happened to...
