  1. Old school vs new school

While I admit my JT is light years ahead of the TJ I will point out the TJ clutch is a superior design. Got over 110K on it, with my wife driving it daly in rush hour traffic.
  2. Suggestions for side steps

I second the MORE folding steps. They mount under your stock rubi rock sliders. My 5' 2" wife has been very happy with them. They are a quality product, very well made.
  3. Old school vs new school

I have a 05 TJ, while it is not as good on the interstate as my JT I have serious doubts that my JT will be in the same shape in 19 years. The simplicity of the TJ reduces electrical issues.
  4. Hmm, this is an interesting solution. No More Dry Starts

In the late 70's early 80's the manual on my Lycoming 0-235 stated it was normal for it to take 10 seconds before oil pressure showed on the gauge. We would count to 10 while watching the pressure gage. The engine had a 2000 hour TBO service life. I do not know of any one who ever had a problem...
  5. Sport S Capability

I have a 2020 Sport S. Stock wheels and tires replaced with Rubicon take offs. Changed front bumper added a winch. I don't rock crawl but I drive on beach, trails, use it to hunt and fish. Went to Tennessee for the Jeep Invasion. Its more capable than I am.
  6. Tire tread Life

I thank you will like them, the set that came on my JT lasted 65,000 miles. Running my second set that I bought from a member, great tires.
  7. No battery issue!

2020 Sport S power windows and locks. Warn 10K winch, aux lighting. Battery lasted 42 months 65K miles. Could have lasted longer but was leaving on a three week road trip so replaced it too avoid potential problems. Some people blame all the issues on the small battery, I wonder why it really...
  8. Oracle tail lights

I have the Oracle head, fog, and backup lights. Had a small problem with the backup lights ( ordered before avabible) and customer service solved my issue with one call. I am a happy customer.
  9. Buyer's remorse

I have more sellers remorse. I have a number of vehicles I regret selling over the years. Did I pay too much for my Gladiator, Hell yes, do I regret buying it not at all. All I have to do is drive it on the beach and watch a sunset. When I bought it I told my son that I had lost my mind. He...
  10. Vacations Are Bad – They Make Me Spend A Lot of Money on My Jeeps!

Yes and it will continue to cost you money. It's very good .;)
  11. Do it yourself or collect your "free oil changes"?

My Gladiator is a 2020 it had 4 oil changes included. I used the free services then did my own. This is the easiest oil change I have ever done, at 71 that is saying a lot. Just save the receipts when you buy oil and filters and you are good with the warranty.
  12. My insurance went up

    Yes
  13. 3.6 Penstar Poll!

90K so far pretty much trouble free. 13 JK was trouble free for 135K hurricane dropped a tree on it and killed it.
  14. Confused on Transmission Service

The replacement kit I ordered was a steel pan. Only one of these I have fooled with, it's strange, however the transmission has 90K on it and is shifting like new. So I don't have a reasion to complain.
  15. Confused on Transmission Service

I can't explain why, but that's the way it was delivered to me. Don't know if it matters but December 2019 build.
  16. Oil Changes 101 by Blackstone Labs 🤣

I love this, reminds me of when my then 16 year old son decided to surprise me and change the oil in my 74 CJ 5 (1986). He tightened the oil filter so tight it was almost impossible to remove. Drove the screwdriver through it and the can ripped. Had to use a chisel on the base of the filter.
  17. Confused on Transmission Service

Yes I had the plastic pan with the filter built in. I have thought about the after market pan that's aluminum and uses a reusable filter. I want to find out more about the filter they take.
  18. Confused on Transmission Service

When I serviced my transmission the pan and filter was a one unit. I hope they have changed it, on my 2020 the filter and pan was a unit not separate. I purchased the parts and fluid on line and paid $350.
  19. Confused on Transmission Service

In my case at 55K I ask my dealer about servicing my transmission. I got a deer in the headlights look, and was told it's a life time fill. I bought the fluid and kit and changed it in my driveway. Used the transmission temp gauge on the cluster. Almost 30K ago so I think its all good. Next time...
