Thought y'all might get a kick out of my DIY tent lift. (1) Front bumper winch line through a soft shackle that's attached to a D-ring permanently drilled into the concrete; (2) then under the jeep to another soft-shackle/D-ring combo; (3) up to another soft-shackle/D-ring combo in the garage...
I've thought about this myself—was offered some special deal from Zolman Tire within the first 3 months of new vehicle ownership—but decided to just go with a monthly unlimited car wash that includes underbody wash from October to April.
I know it doesn't get everything that causes rust, but...
So my driver's side Fox shock that was replaced in April 2024 lasted... 18 months. Dealership confirmed that both that shock and the front passenger shock need to be replaced. The driver's side one is covered under the 2-year parts warranty, and the dealership took 80% off the passenger...
Love that third ledge for getting up and behind the cab! Also like the clean lines that the running board provides—it hugs right up to where the cab metal is pinched so you don't have to see it.
For $299, that's a steal too! Only thing that would have made this a 10/10 option would be if it...
I bought a CVT 2.3M 270° awning—but they don't offer walls. Are other companies' awning walls interchangable? For example, can I use Tuff Stuff's awning walls if the dimensions are close enough?
Here are the dimensions of what I have now:
Here's Tuff Stuff's similar awning:
And then here...
Does anybody know what this piece is? What it does? (I bought the 87" tent, annex, cold weather exterior cover, interior insulation, and 2.3m 270° awning.)
Base during the day, upper at night. Ran the lowest setting all night (even one step higher was WAYY too much heat), and only used .25 of the tank through 12 hours!
I'm going to buy an HVAC splitter so I can run heat to the annex and RTT all day/night at the same time. Because the absolute...
Did a trial run in the snow last night. Single digits with a diesel heater and interior insulation. I would have used the cold weather cover, but it's impossible to install when already mounted.
Turns out the bars on ARE's Classic HD cap come attached with hardware specifically designed for awnings! I just used some of the extra tent hardware to mount it. Amazing.
Had my front driver's side replaced. Bad seals. It was covered under the OG 3 year/30k mile warranty. I think one of my back ones is starting to go, and I'm out of that initial warranty period.
I will absolutely be cold-weather camping. I got it all: the big tent, the annex, interior insulated liner, exterior weather cover, and a Vevor diesel heater (after watching Project Farm's review video). But I haven't found the time.
I can talk about the durability, though—because I've dropped...
