Yes we know the cause and fix. Bad D clutch and warped backing plate of the D clutch. Replace the complete rear output shaft assembly kit. 4 special tools needed. Be sure to have a real transmission tech do the work.
Just had a front end alignment on my 2021 Mojave on 37’s, no lift. The shop got everything back to factory specs, but showed me end joints on the tie rod and drag link have about 1/8” of play up and down and recommend to replace both.
Can the ends just be replaced or should both complete drag...
There has been a tsb out for this for almost a year. Your D clutch and backing plate are warped and/or broken. The fix is is replacement of the rear output shaft assembly. Parts are available. Be sure your dealer has a transmission guy doing the rebuild, not a general mechanic. Not a difficult...
Mine was rebuilt by the dealer under warranty. One of the first 2 done in the US at 45,000 miles. per the TSB. The rear output shaft assembly was replaced, which included the d clutch and backing plate ( which are the failed parts).
You d clutch is bad. Your fluid is now burnt. You will have metal in your pan, lots of it. If your under warranty get it in now . If not under warranty get it in now, $1800 fix now, 4-6k if you make it worse by continuing to drive.
2 questions. 1- Is it wise to check the fluid level before draining, and maybe on a yearly basis for that matter, to be sure it has the correct level to begin with and is not duluted with coolant??
2-Is it better to have the fluid cold prior to changing, or at the 90-110 degrees range?
If you do have coolant in your trans fluid, the source is the transmission heater on the rear of the trans on the drivers side. It is bad and needs replacing. If your not sure, send a sample to Blackstone to test it.
Actually none should be coming out of the fill hole when cold. At 90-110 degrees the trans fluid should be just starting to trickle out of the fill hole. With the engine running. The fill hole is not a drain hole. Dropping the pan is how you drain it.
I have 37” tires and it was no issue with my claim.
Dont even mention it. All 6 Jeep dealers here in Vegas have brand new jeeps sitting in their showrooms with 37” tires that they sell. If you’re the least bit worries throw your stock tires back on. If the dealer fives you shit, go to another...
Of course it would. Burnt fluid and metal in the pan is what you will find if there is a problem. Clean green fluid and no metal in the pan and filter means your good.
Yes that is the case as of now. My reverse gear clunk started at 20,000 miles, I didn’t get the funky 3-4th shift, with the code, till 45,000 miles.
Funny thing is, the check engine light actually went off before i got it to the dealer and it was actually driving fine. My fluid was totally...
