I'm in Virginia and running factory soft top on the JT all year around, I didn't even get a hardtop. There's not issue with stretching the fabric, just be mindful with the rear window if it was folded, you want that to be warm/soft enough.
I did that for a few trips, from weekends to 3 weeks roadtrip and it was fine. Usual MO is to run of the truck power system during driving time and stops, once on camp site I usually disconnect as we move the fridge. But I had it connected and running of the truck when leaving things pack for...
Not sure what the cut-off voltage is, but once it's reached it shows a message on the screen and the Aux is turned off. I was totally surprised the first time when it happened as I didn't found anything about in the manual neither.
But from a post on the Wrangler site: Generally it means your...
I have the factory installed Aux switch group, ran a 10 gauge wire from the engine bay to the truck bed to have (2) 12V outlets on the bed. I usually have a Dometic PLB40 connected to the 12V and then a Dometic CFX3 45 connected to the PLB40. The PLB 4 max draw is 8 amp. The Aux switch is set to...
I got some mirrors mounted to the door hinges, something like $30 for the pair. They are fine when you're not moving or at low speed, but are totally useless at highway speed as they vibrate so bad that you can't see a thing, but they fulfill VA state code for review mirrors 🤷♂️
As I mentioned, I do have the Wrangler 4xe, and it's mostly fun until the battery is depleted <1% , then you're pretty much relying on the 2.0T, and if you don't keep it in higher RPM it lagging and there's a ton of shifting going on to compensate. Don't get me wrong, I still love the 4xe for...
Wondering with what engine they want to pair it. I have a Wrangler 4xe and it's fun to drive on roads. Now, I also have a JTRD, and I love the low end torque and fuel mileage even when towing, but I have doubt's the current 2.0T engine of the 4xe setup will provide a similar experience.
So, I have a 2021 JTRD and a 2023 JL 4xE, I do love both, but they address different needs (wants). For an empty JL the 2L turbo engine is fine, bit fully loaded for a trip it's lacking the lower end torque, of course that's not an issue if the battery is charged enough to have the electric...
Maybe it's time to looks into a lift kit again, I was looking for the "old" MOPAR kit 2 years ago but as it's wasn't available for a while (JTRD) I dropped that project for other things 🤷♂️
Update on my leaking RR axle, Jeep Dealership replaced the right axle shaft under warranty, of course only the leaking one and not both rear shafts. I guess I will be checking all axles for leaking monthly now.
One the plus side it took them, it took them only 8h from dropping the Jeep at the...
Guess I joined the club today too. Just failed VA State Inspection due to the axel seal leak, it has only 23k miles on it. Jeep dealership told me the bring in the truck on Monday. Crossing my fingers that they can fix it fast as we're planning to go on 2500 miles roadtrip starting next...
