  1. Anyone Install Mopar Cold Air Intake Yet?

I will say this, towing home another car, that I really didn't need, that needs an engine and other things fixed, I was getting a solid 16mpg doing that. So win?
  2. Anyone Install Mopar Cold Air Intake Yet?

Data has been inconclusive. I have made the following anecdotal observations: 1. Intake noise is increased making the engine sound meaner. 2. Initially mile per gallon increased by about 2mpg, this was then offset by going to 33" tall 10ply A/T tires. Since then the engine was replaced under...
  3. Dealer overfilled oil

Indeed, either way I am less than excited. I now have zero faith that repairs were completed correctly and to specifications. I understand things happen, but the lack of care found in the rest of the assembly of the things I can see at a quick glance under the hood, I can't even be angry.
  4. Dealer overfilled oil

If anyone is still watching this thread, I forgot to make any updates. The source of the oil leak was a missing cam phaser bring on the front of the drivers side valve cover. Not torn, completely missing. I bought the 2 dollar part and fixed it myself. Now after about 8000 miles the engine seems...
  5. Best deal on Gladiator hard top?

    Oof, that hurts for sure.
  6. Best deal on Gladiator hard top?

If you aren't too picky about source, car-part.com searches salvage yards. I picked up a complete softtop for a third of New (summer top, keeping the hard one). Just a thought...
  7. Buyback or keep it?

Having gone through the engine replacement myself, which I know you followed, I would be in the same pickle as you with the mods you have done. If the truck is working well and it is built to your specs now and is a color you love I would keep it. Just because they give you money back and you go...
  8. Camshaft dual pattern, higher lift or extended duration?

After all of my troubles that have since been ironed out I still get follower noise or something on cold starts. I have been looking g at the variable profile camshaft and am curious to whether it is truly higher lift or an extended duration in design. Looking at the pictures the base profile of...
  9. Dealer overfilled oil

I took my lunch break, went over, grabbed the service manager and showed him in person. He said that it could not have been cleaned proper, I said good, grab some dye then. "We don't have any right now it's a vendor direct ship" gtfo with that. When I was turning wrenches I made sure whatever I...
  10. Dealer overfilled oil

Contacted the dealer and they stated that it looks like it could be old oil... Do they think I am mentally deficient? At this point I am contacting a lawyer and this El knocko is gonna be gone. If you live in Minnesota don't go to Tanner Motors for service work, their attention to detail is...
  11. Dealer overfilled oil

Well, looks like it gets to go back... again... the timing cover is leaking oil down onto the front diff. I know that the long block you have to reinstall this cover. Had they gotten a crate engine instead I probably wouldn't have this issue. Oddly enough, the part number for the long block used...
  12. Mpg's way off?

You have to keep the doors on when you do it though, otherwise the air flowing in the sides onto your legs will drop your efficiency at least .3% or so. Or shave your legs, it helps swimmers I think....
  13. What did you HAUL in your JT today?

    My nephew's first "jeep"
  14. How much can my Gladiator tow?

Pretty sure it should, I always neglect to look at mine, but I purpose ordered mine to be 7650lbs oh yeah, Mac's Toe.
  15. How much can my Gladiator tow?

Door sticker should have the definitive answer on towing capacity. I installed the mopar brake controller, took about an hour and a half. The worst part was installing the box in the footwell and routing the wires. I also broke the ring on the power port I removed. Looks awesome and was plug and...

Welcome to the circus! I am in agreement about wanting to know the story. From a green guy on the land, hello!
  17. Dealer overfilled oil

It's handy to keep a can or two around for emergencies. I store mine next to the exhaust gas sample bags, muffler bearings and the water pump for the 73 beetle I have yet to buy... Is yours the official Lucas brand?
  18. Dealer overfilled oil

It was the three free ones courtesy of jeep. Super easy to do at home. I like to change the cabin filter at the same time. Already sucked a mouse nest out once. Ugh, country living.
  19. Dealer overfilled oil

I think it runs better being a brand new engine and having the correct amount of oil. I made a point of checking it right in the parking lot as I picked it up haha. We will see what happens as we go along....
